Your Past Self

Ages 0 - 1 year old

During my infancy, I didn't remember many details from that era. I know, however, based on past anecdotes from my mother, that I cried a lot as a baby. I was also very clingy towards my mother, crying whenever I was handed to others besides her, indicating mistrust towards others.

Ages 2 - 3 years old

I began exploring places in my early childhood as we often travelled a lot. My mother described me as a curious and independent young girl, with each journey bringing color to my world.

Ages 4 - 5 years old

Around this time, I had my younger sibling and finally knew the feeling of being an older sister. My parents then taught me how to be responsible for caring for my younger brother and me, taking initiative to avoid getting into trouble as much as possible. This was also the time where I liked Dora very much!

Ages 6 - 11 years old

I remember getting into many activities in elementary school, such as reading, playing the piano, solving math equations, painting, and swimming. I think it was by far one of the most productive parts of my life given the amount of work I had done in a day. This was also when I wanted other people to know I was competent in the activities I took part in.

Ages 12 - 18 years old

At this stage, I entered high school and met some of the best people who became my closest friends. I also began exploring what kind of future and career I wanted for myself, being curious about what identity I wanted to have. As I grow older daily, I pray that with whatever path I will have in the future, I will continue being rich with my genuine connection towards the people I know today.

The Personal Development subject was highly beneficial for me, as it allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and reflect on my values, aspirations, and emotions. It helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses, as well as how they influence my life choices. Through various lessons and activities, I became more self-aware and mindful of my behaviors. This subject also motivated me to prioritize personal growth and cultivate a positive mindset. Overall, it contributed to my increased confidence and balance as an individual.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?

My main takeaways from the subject emphasize the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and fostering healthy relationships. I discovered that personal growth requires ongoing reflection and effort. The lessons taught me how to manage stress and approach challenges with a more optimistic perspective. I recognized that understanding myself enables me to understand others better, thereby enhancing my relationships. This subject emphasized that personal development is not solely about achieving success, but also about evolving into a more empathetic and improved person.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?

My two preferred topics were Mental Health and Well-being and Personal and Social Relationships. I appreciated the Mental Health topic because it taught me how to care for myself both emotionally and mentally, especially during stressful periods. It made me aware of the importance of self-care and seeking assistance when necessary for overall well-being. Additionally, I enjoyed the Personal and Social Relationships topic, as it helped me understand how to form meaningful and supportive connections with others. Both topics imparted lessons that I can apply daily to lead a healthier and more balanced life.
