I've highlighted- Depth of IB knowledge and application, Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Competence.

I think that each school and setting is unique and we need to be mindful with regard to culture, but at the same time, honour the IB Framework and Mission.

Can you guys add anything else to these? Maybe we can get a conversation started :-) -Lisa

As a follow on to this and the fact that the Leadership intelligences identified by the IB are not a definitive list, out of:
  • Strategic
  • Relational
  • Cultural
  • Entrepreneunial
  • Reflective
  • Pedagogical and 
  • Heuristic
It is that of Strategic that stands out the most for me at the moment at this stage of my IBEN journey.
Maccoby and Scudder's (2011) interpretation of strategic intelligences focus on it having four qualities:
Foresight, We need this form of strategic intelligence when consulting and assisitng schools in their IB journey. We will need to be aware of where they are and where they need to go and HOW to get there.
Visioning with Systems Thinking, important for assisting and working alongside fellow educators in moving them forward in their learning journey.
Partnering, working in partnership and collaboration. We are representing the IBO and with that comes much responsibility.
Motivating and empowering, this will be one of the keys. When schools have so much to do, it will be with through our motivation, encouragement and empowering them with the required skills that will get them through! - Lisa

It's interesting to be able to hear from other IBEN and their insight into the objectives and components of the course. I look forward to working with new colleagues from around Asia Pacific.

Although we know the two roles are quite different, they do have  similarities. It will be interesting to delve deeper into these and be able to compare with one another through the Venn diagram task.

As you can both see from my 'blue background' reflection, I'm really interested in finding out more about the educator capabilities and leadership intelligences. I think that like students we teach, we ourselves, will be able to construct our own knowledge through the reading of these documents.

-        Providing the online learning environment for the participants to interact, to share thoughts, to collaborative, and to learn from each other before taking the onsite training in Bali;

Fang, yes! I agree that the collaborative aspect to this workshop is so encouraging. I remember doing the face-to-face training and being so thankful for the group of educators that I worked with, we are still in contact now. -Lisa

-        Encouraging the participants to read and get familiar with the IB documentations related to the roles of being a SVTL and a Consultant;

This is so important! I think also to be able to recognise the key differences between the two roles but also the similarities. I think the Venn diagram will really help us a lot. It will be great to be able to compare ours to each other to further clarify meaning.   -Lisa

-        Supporting the participants to understand the standards required by the roles, and the participants will build a thorough understanding of being a SVTL and a Consultant throughout reading the IB guides, sharing the thoughts, asking questions, collaborate with the group to solve problems etc.;
I also think a part of this objective is to also provide us IBEN's with the lens of being more knowledgeable and the ability to provide the same guidance and responses to schools and educators that we come in contact with through visits or consultancy work. -Lisa

-        Reminding the participants the importance of meeting the deadline, and having the committeemen to a high standard of the performance when conducting a school visit or being a consultant; 

-        Preparing the participants with 4-week interactive and intensive training before taking the onsite training
