Growing up, I use to play school with my friends. I would always play the role of a teacher. 

My first grade experience is the reason why I want to specifically teach first grade; however, as a pk-6 licensure, I am happy teaching any grade level! Although I cannot recall my first grade teacher's name, which I believe was Mrs. Rite, I know that she made the class fun and exciting; especially with the rewarding Burger King and other meals she brought for the class. I also, really love little kids. I think they are cute and innocent.
As a teacher, I not only want to teach and enhance my students basic knowledge skills, but I also want to teach them about life, and how to survive. Through out my high school years, I always came to school with a smile on my face no matter what went on in my home life. I always looked forward to seeing my friends and my teachers. My first year ROTC instructor referred and still referrers to me as his daughter. While observing Crossroads Elementary School, I notice that some of the students with disabilities were involved in the pk-5 classes. Knowing how to attend to a child with a severe learning disability can open a new door for my career path.
