We chose this song by Conan Gray because as in shacspeare's sonnet all the negative sides of the person you love are explained.

In the song the girl feels betrayed by the boy and comes to want to be heather.

in the sonnet at the end the two protagonists die, in the song the girl suffers a lot and it is as if she were dying.

Lucrezia: in my opinion this song is right because there are all the feelings that you can feel at the end of every love story, a bit like in the sonnet. Listening to it I always get excited, even if I can’t say that I have ever experienced the same feelings that she feels.
Giulia: Heather is one of my favorite song, . Actually I like the lyrics and I think that Conan Gray was very good at putting such strong feelings in a song.

We chose it because we are near Christmas and because it’s a love song.
The song talks about this boy that got cheated on his last Christmas.
The first underlined lyrics are the main lyrics and this lines talk about the boy remembering how he confessed his love last year and how the next day the girl shoved him away and went to someone else and then this year he thought of confessing his love to someone special.
What you see in the video is that the boy is quite hurt; in the present year they all go on a trip like always and they try their best to avoid each other.
Like in the verse “I keep my distance but you still catch my eye” or the verse “I’m hiding from you and your soul of ice” in little words he’s heartbroken and so he moves on and give his heart to someone special.

This song tells the story of Romeo and juliet In a modern key but in the version of the band the girl does not return the love of the boy. It is sung by Dire Straits, a British band.

This song is defined as one of the songs that represents Dire Straits the most.
A curiosity: this song is inspired by the break up of the leader of the band with his girlfriend.

Sara: I suggested this song because a week before the assignment, my mom showed me her old music tapes and one of the of those was of the Dire Straits and she rocommended me this two song: "Tunnel of love" and "Romeo & Juliet"
Chaimaa: I really like this song because I've always liked the love story between Romeo and Juliet and I like how Dire straits rewrot the whole story from another point of view. I love how Juliet doesn't return the feelings of Romeo and how he tries to make her change her mind. I like the Juliet that doesen't fall into the flattery of Romeo.
Dilman: I like the video of the song, especially the part when I see Romeo watching Juliet from a hole on the wall that he cannot reach and when the light that illuminates Juliet is turned off. Romeo thronws himself off the wall, then Juliet's light is turned off then, it is turned on again and off again. (A reference to the death of Romeo & Juliet). For me this song conveys the idea of true love and the death of both lovers is caused by fate
Alice: "I like this song because unlike other songs or plays this one keeps the plot as the original one from the novel, I think it can be a smart way to learn the story of Romeo and Juliet without actually spending hours looking up articles"

(Sheena) I really like this song because it expresses the true sense of love. I would love hear these words from the man i love. It is very nice to hear these words by a man. the singer makes the woman feel loved. I would love to be in love and here these follwing words:"That you'll always be togethere" or "You tell her that she's really wanted" or "You tell her that she's the one " I would like to hear these sentence from a person i will love in the future.
(Giorgia) This song talks about true love, the singer ask questions asking "You've never loved a woman"to those who listen to the song and makes it clear what it relly means to love a women. He says that to love a women you have to understand her, know her and treat her well. The author wants to make it clear what it really means to love.
(Marta) This song is written as a poem and it represents the vision of love that the author ( Bryan Adams) perceives of a woman. So that you have to love her, demonstrate that you love her and make her fell at comfort with him. The song for me is very beatiful and I think it can give a picture of how a man should treat his woman.

We chose this song because the refrain remembers the unconditional love beetween Romeo and Juliet. their love was forbidden by their family.

PERSONAL OPINIONS
Melissa: This song is about an unconditional love, Katy Perry sings: "Come just as you are to me, don't need apologies" and the refrain says: "I will love you unconditionally". This reminds me of the unconditional love beetween Romeo and Juliet. Unconditionally because they became lovers in spite the fact their family were fighting each other.
Ludovica: To me Romeo and Juliet would do anything to be together, also go against their own families as says the song: "I do it all because I love you".
Melisa: This expression "Walk through this storm I would" indicates the quarrels between the families that do not condition their love.
Anna Cremona: "Let go and just be free" indicates that Romeo and Juliet love each other despite the other person's faults.

He says that to be free you have to accept life as it is. This is what Romeo and Juliet want to be free to marry, whitout thinking about the idea of families.
