Name of actor 1: Asha Jacobs as William Beech

Name of actor 2 And Director: Andrew Uzochukwu as Tom Oakley

Can you describe the role you played?
I played the role of Tom Oakley. I personally found the role of Tom Oakley particularly challenging because in order to effectively play the role of Tom Oakley i would have to adapt and come up with new ideas and ways to portray and effectively make the audience feel as though i am really Tom Oakley. I would have to adapt to changes such as speech patterns and habits that old people particularly have such as slow speech and pauses.

What purpose did your role have?
The purpose of my role was to be the guardian of the evacuee "William Beech". My role was also to give William =emotional support as an evacuee as he is faced in a new environment moved from war he could have also been traumatized .

One interpretive skill needed to create this style of work is to be able to interpret movement. This would be important because the actor would need to create their move to match and incorporate the move made by another actor in the play.Another interpretive skill that would be needed to create this style of work is facial expressions. They would need to be able to interpret facial expressions because if an actor in the play is crying if their facial expression doesn't look like their crying it would look fake and unbelievable. Also, emotion would be required to create this style of work because if an actor needed to for example cry in their performance then they would need to summon real emotions in order for it to look believable. and pace because they would need to be able to pace themselves and their speech to best suit the scene they are performing.

Approaches an actor might take to create a performance is to take written accounts from people to help them to emphasize and better play their character. Actors would need to research materials like warm ups that will help them to get into character. They would also need to devise and discuss with their colleagues and fellow performers to perfect scenes to make sure the performance is as good as possible.
