By actively participating in activities and recalling their own experiences, children will be more likely to ask questions and reflect on what they know, therefore, developing their geographical knowledge.

'Good geography' is a balance of passive and active learning where children are given opportunities to apply theory and knowledge learnt within the classroom to the natural world around them. 'Good geography' should relate to current events whenever possible as it is a significant part of life on Earth; real people, real places and real issues with a real impact. Children can draw parallels and differences between what they've learnt, what they can see and the world around them.
