I chose this picture because in my opinion it shows the role of plants in society as well as how they are in the environment. Plants are a key factor in the environment to create food sources for some animals, and even homes for other creatures. Plants create jobs for farmers in the human world, but they also provide vital oxygen to all breathing organisms. This photo shows plants being used as a farming tool, or food, which is representative of the tremendous impact they have on the environment.

This video gives a great, in depth video description of photosynthesis, the electron transport chain, etc. without going into so much detail that it loses meaning. The video also gives detail as to what each part of the cycle does and the importance of each unit within photosynthesis. The visual aid within the video helped me to have a better understanding of photosynthesis, as it used connecting colors to further drive points to make sense.

The below website is a long list of every wildflower that can be found in the state of Georgia. Many of these plants are found across the East coast, but that is to be expected since much of the southeast has a similar climate - it does not just stop at state lines. Every wildflower has a link that shows the common name, the scientific name, and it also gives an in depth description and photo of the wildflower.

https://uswildflowers.com/wfquery.php?State=GA

In my opinion, the tropical rainforest in South America is in the most prevalent danger. All the biomes are in danger if humans do not start making changes, but the deforestation of the rainforest is a huge problem that seems to consistently be pushed under the rug. Also due to global warming, there is less rain in the rainforest, and many plants and animals in this biome are unable to survive in the hotter, dryer climate.

I chose this picture because during the third Agricultural Revolution, pesticides and herbicides were used more widely and more frequently. These pesticides allowed for farmers to keep crop growth under control by killing the unwanted "weeds". The pesticides also prevented insects from completely destroying a crop yield.

http://www.superbiotechmarketingcompany.com/agriculture-fertilizers.html

I also used the notes for more information.

I chose the below website because it goes into thorough detail of all the chemicals plants excrete or use. In this article, alkaloids are mentioned, and from these plants comes morphine. I believe morphine has had a huge impact on modern medicine as a way for humans to be able to properly heal from injuries or surgeries, giving us a higher chance of survival from these injuries or procedures.

http://www.open.edu/openlearn/science-maths-technology/science/chemistry/chemical-plants

I chose this picture because I believe that if the environment is left at the rate we are going, eventually plants (and humans) will die off. I truly believe the dreaded "apocalypse" would happen not because of the undead, but because we have drained the earth of too many resources that it can no longer support any forms of life. I also feel this way because political laws have made no effort to protect the earth in the near future with the current leaders, and since it is not an immediate end, many people are unable to see the harm in using so many resources since they will not be around to see the end.
