In Wildest Dreams the speaker in the lyrics seems to be Taylor Swift, whose relationship is about to end when it just started. In the music video, the speaker is an Actress which is Taylor Swift as a 1950s actress, who is having a secret relationship with her co-star. The occasion appears to be a relationship Taylor Swift has been in but it hasn't been confirmed who it might be. When the song was released Taylor was single.

Her audience is her ex-lover, who they have been secretly together and only a few people know. The purpose is to tell her ex-lover to remember her despite their relationship ending. Even though their have relationship ended, there will always be memories and they are worth remembering. Which is the subject, relationships ending. The tone is calm and passionate with Taylor/actress singing why he should remember her.

Lyric Analysis - Pathos

In the lyrics, there is pathos on how she always felt this relationship wouldn't work.

Pathos- "I can see the end as it begins". This lyric shows us how Taylor always felt during the relationship. Through the beginning of their relationship, she felt it was going to end at the moment. It was never going to be long-term.

Pathos- "I thought heaven can't help me now/Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down". She feels she is so deep down in the relationship that she can't get out or even heaven can't give her a miracle.

Lyric Analysis- Ethos

Ethos- "I bet these memories follow you around". This lyric is Ethos because Taylor implies that if she remembers these memories then he probably also remembers them because they are memorable. Like the times they spend staring at the sunset as she mentions in the song "Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress/Staring at the sunset, babe". This is something they did a lot because it's part of the chorus.

Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your wildest dreams, ah-ha
Wildest dreams, ah-ha

Ethos- "He said, "Let's get out of this town/Drive out of the city, away from the crowds". In this lyric, we know he told Taylor it would be better if they left town to get away from all the crowd. He believes that if they didn't have so many people looking in their relationship it would work. Most public relationships of Taylor ended because of all the crowds getting in their relationship.

The use of ethos and pathos helped Taylor to get her message through to her ex to remember her. In the music video, the use of logos and ethos was used to show her ex why it's worth remembering all the memories they made during their relationship.
