An assessment of the elderly-friendly facilities available in Harbin's parks.

 

2.What triggers you to start this research? 

The main reason I am interested in this subject is that I am already forty years old, and in 20 years, I will be an elderly person. As a result, I began to pay attention to their psychological needs and living environment.

Furthermore, I reside in Harbin, a city in northern China. According to 2020 statistics from Harbin, by the end of 2009, the population of the city was 9 million people. The number of elderlies over the age of 60 accounted for more than 22.6% of the city's residents. The number of children is declining. Adults spend most of their time at work. They don't have the energy to spend time with the elderly or live apart from their children. In this way, the elderly are unable to feel loved and belong.

In addition, many of Harbin's parks were constructed before the elderly population became a serious problem. Therefore, the parks weren't designed and constructed specifically with the elderly in mind. This study aims to address such a problem.

3.What is the government's opinion?

The current urbanization plan in China proposes the creation of park communities and liveable cities. An additional part of the study focuses on optimizing the facilities in parks to cater to older people.

 

 

1. What triggers you to start this research? 

First of all, Fossils of ancient creatures from Chengjiang Known as "rare in the world's modern paleontological research history" and "one of the most amazing scientific discoveries in the 20th century", it is a national treasure, a precious treasure of Yunnan and even the whole country, and a golden key to reveal the mystery of the Cambrian "big Explosion of life".

Second, public awareness of paleontological groups is low. Even as a native of Yunnan, I only knew of their existence in recent years. Although local governments and researchers are doing their best to promote paleontological communities, they are not optimistic. For many years, I have been studying how to use my professional ability to transform the visual arts of human cultural heritage or world natural heritage. From 2017 to 2019, I tried to conduct interactive art creation and research on "Ancient biological fossils", which was finally presented in the form of metal installation artworks and AR products and won various domestic awards and praise.

2、Who are the stakeholders that benefit from this research?
I think it is the museum of ancient creatures that benefit directly. I have been to the museum for research, and their products about ancient creatures are not beautiful and have no sense of design, which can hardly keep up with the aesthetics of The Times, so people are reluctant to buy and collect them. The indirect beneficiaries are the designers who create world heritage through digital technology. Because I will study and publish a complete set of the design processes and design thinking. This includes the analysis and transformation of design techniques and visual art elements.

At present, the world is facing the important development stage of urban transformation. Urban structure, spatial form, ecological environment, urban renewal and historical and cultural inheritance are all urgent problems to be solved.In 2004, the findings of a Harvard University study pointed out that "the focus of the world's economic development is shifting to the cultural accumulation of heavy cities" and that culture will become the core value of urban construction in the future.The development of the city records the civilization of the human being, and influences the development of the whole culture of the society continuously, in turn, the development of the culture will also counter-act the city's development idea.China's unprecedented high-speed urban construction has strangled the city's uniqueness, which is closely related to the city's unique culture.Art is an important part of city culture, as well as the soul and temperament of a city.The development of the city has entered into the "aesthetic age", and human's demand for "beautiful city" and artistic living style will promote the development of "art city".

2. Who are the stakeholders that benefit from this research?

Government, enterprises, experts, and citizens.Public art plays an important part in contemporary 

urban culture. As a diversified art form and carrier of creative aesthetics that transmits place value, it demonstrates the attitude and spirit of people amidst urban life. 

My hometown is Minqin County, Gansu Province, China. I choose this topic because this place is my hometown, I want to do something for my hometown because I grew up in a desert environment, I care about desertification very much. Cities have a deeper understanding, most of Gansu is gobi desert and desert, there is no grass. People live in an environment of water shortage and drought, with frequent sandstorms. The city they live in is very unsuitable for living. I want to make some landscape designs to drive desert tourism to promote local economic development, promote personnel flow and improve people's living environment.

At present, foreign countries hold a neutral, objective, and more pragmatic attitude toward desert tourism, and pay attention to the negative effects of desert tourism. In China, there are many types of research on the economic effects of desert tourism, focusing on the development measures and plans of desert tourism, but there are few types of research on the environmental impacts of desert tourism.

I think the perfect desert landscape environment is the precondition for attracting tourists, desert survival environments, are not suitable for human habitation, continued into the modern ecological environment deterioration has become a threat to the survival of mankind, of the impact of long-term human activities, change the extent of the desert oasis landscape diversity and integrity, while the environmental protection consciousness of human ascension can effectively protect desert region landscape features, The ecological deterioration has been stopped, but the effects of desertification leftover from history are still threatening the achievements of desert landscape management by human beings, and the landscape environment in Minqin area is a great threat to the normal life of residents and the future agricultural development. On this basis, it makes some good planning and design of the local desert tourism landscape, analyzes and compares the domestic and foreign desert landscape planning and design cases, and compares the changes in the desert spatial pattern caused by the production of desert tourism landscape space under the guidance of administration, and the influence on the desert landscape planning. It embodies the value significance of sustainable development of the Minqin desert tourism landscape.

1. Turning deserts into new tourist destinations can maintain the ecological balance of desert areas and reduce the pace of desertification.

The utilization of desert tourism resources is of great significance in the development of western China. Along the Gobi desert and desert westbound ancient silk screen road, has become a modern tourism hotline at home and abroad. In the upsurge of desert tourism economic development benefits, many desert scenic spots with different development patterns and characteristics have emerged. It is of great practical significance to maintain the ecological balance in desert areas and promote the sustainable development of the tourism economy and social undertakings through the in-depth study on the evaluation and development of desert tourism resources. If desert tourism development is integrated into the construction of the ecological environment, the desert resources can be actively protected. For example, the sand control engineering system of Crescent Spring and Mogao Grottoes can effectively prevent desertification in Dunhuang. Desert tourism can also carry out education on ecological environment protection, which can be incorporated into tourism. For example, sand-control tourism in Shapotou Scenic spot can allow tourists to accept the education of ecological environment protection in their personal experience of the miracle of sand control.

2. Desert tourism can bring great economic benefits through the design of the ecological landscape.

The western region is rich in tourism resources but weak in the economic foundation. Desert tourism can bring huge economic benefits into play. The development of desert tourism resources is of positive significance to the economic prosperity of the whole western region. Tourism also plays a driving role in the whole sand industry. Desert tourism plays an important role in regional economic development by closely combining with the sand industry and taking the tourism industry as the leader. The sand industry can also raise and absorb funds for other sand industries through tourism, at the same time, to do special landscape planning and design of the desert, can drive the development of the desert industry, desert tourism is the leading, rich desert tourism content, make up for the desert tourist attractions scattered, single scenery defects.

 

 

In the process of service design, user research, interviews and other methods will be used to obtain and insight into user needs, to determine user portraits and formulate service blueprints. At present, big data analysis has also become one of the tools to study user behavior.
