The Ottoman Empire was the center of trade between Europe and Asia. The Ottoman Empire produced products that Asia and Europe had high demand for and were shipped between the two countries. As Europe started to produce more and more things out of their country the Ottoman Empire had a hard time finding its place in the world because Europe had cheaper machine-made goods than the Ottoman empire once had.

The treaty of Kanagawa had a big impact on how Japan changed their ways of doing things. Japan had been in isolation for so many years and so many countries were trying to open up Japan and get into the port. With the treaty of Kanagawa it opened up the ports to let ships in so people could get supplies and Japan no longer lived in peace they were now open to the world.

During imperialism, white men controlled almost all of the things that the black population did. They made the people of Africa look and sound like they were animals and they had no place in the world during that period. Many white English men took control of all of those people and they made them get educated and they made them seem like they were dumb and that that have no knowledge. The white man's burden during imperialism showed that the black race could have no say in anything that they did.
