In June of 2017, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) garnered recognition from US News & World Report as one of the best pediatric hospitals in the nation. This marks the 11th consecutive time CHLA has appeared on US News’ Best Children’s Hospitals rankings and the ninth consecutive time it has appeared on the publication’s prestigious Honor Roll. 

To compile the lists, US News gathers detailed data from close to 200 health care institutions across the country. Rating them in areas like infection prevention and patient safety, the publication places the top 50 institutions on its Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. These 50 medical centers are then evaluated by US News in 10 specialties, and those with the highest scores earn spots on the Honor Roll. In 2017-18, this list consisted of only 10 hospitals.

CHLA specifically placed No. 6 nationally and no lower than No. 18 in any one specialty. US News also recognized CHLA as California’s top pediatric medical center.
