-In 1992, it was further established as a way to move towards the democratization of Cuba, as they are a communist country.

-The embargo has cost Cuba $144 billion. The GDP between the countries is also a great distance apart. The embargo also limits citizens of Cuba from accessing things like PayPal. It was enforced as a way to make the country shift away from communism, but it is still in place to this day and so is the communist party.
