         <description><![CDATA[<p>If an object changes its speed or direction, it is accelerating.  Roller coasters change acceleration a lot because they go in all different directions and speeds.  Roller coasters have large accelerations, but a ride like the tea cups would have a small acceleration.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A "g" is a unit of acceleration. It is equal to the acceleration that gravity has caused.  Free falling objects on earth change at a rate of 10m/s.  So, an object that is at 4 g's of acceleration, it changes at a rate of 40 m/s a second.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Momentum</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Momentum relates to the amount of motion an object has.  Anything that is in motion has momentum.  If the object has a lot mass, then it will have more momentum than something with less mass if they are going at the same speed.  So, if a roller coaster and a ping pong ball are going at the same speed, then the roller coaster will have more momentum.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>If a rider is at the top of a free fall ride, they would feel their own weight.  Lets say the rider weighs 120 lbs; they would feel the 120 lbs. of force from the seat pushing against them, but they would feel normal.  When the ride starts, the seat drops out from under you and you feel weightless.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Roller coasters first started in the 15th century in Russia when they were called '' ice slides.''  Some people believe that the French invented the roller coaster.  In the 1850's, a mining company in Pennsylvania used an 8.7 mile track to transport coal.  Later they started charging people for rides at 50 cents a piece.  In 1959 Disneyland introduced steel tracks, which allowed roller coasters to be built in any way possible.</p>]]></description>
