As the Cold War began to settle into the bones of the United States, several documents stating plans against the spread of Communism, as well as social equality, came into play. Those documents are: The Truman Doctrine, The Marshall Plan, and the Eisenhower Doctrine.

The Truman Doctrine discussed economic and financial aid to countries who were susceptible to Communist views.

The Marshall Plan discussed ideas of assisting Europe in re-building itself after World War II, although, these ideas became fruitless after the realization that Europe's needs were much bigger than the U.S could provide.

The Eisenhower Doctrine offered that countries under attack from "threats" (the spread of Communism) could request the aid of the U.S. This Doctrine shined through when Lebanon had requested help, signaling to the Soviet Union that the U.S would not back down in preventing Communism from becoming wide-spread across Europe.

West and East Berlin, and the American Goods Drop - 1948

One of the most pivotal moments in the Cold War certainly was the separation of Germany, and Berlin.

During the time of the 1960s, Germany had been split into 4 sectors, Berlin being divided in two. The fight was between Communism and Capitalism once more. Stalin wasn't excited about this either, deciding to cut off railways and any route coming into East Berlin, essentially closing off West Berlin and East Berlin from one another.

Berlin had become an eye opener for why Communism failed systematically. Life in East Berlin was rough, miserable. After Stalin had cut the East off from the West, life just got more difficult. From the barely lasting supplies, to barely being able to get by in the economy, it wasn't looking good for the civilians of East Berlin.

Their saving grace, though, was a goods drop from the U.S. With the help of the UK, the U.S brought over 2.3 million tons of supplies (food, fuel, medicine, Christmas presents). This brought upon the realization to Stalin that he was defeated, lifting the blockade across the railroads and highways.

This was done so that Korea could unite successfully and peacefully. Clearly, this did not happen.

The two halves of Korea were supported by two of the biggest super powers of the time, The U.S supporting North, and the U.S.S.R supporting the South. This split group between politics, and the involvement of two huge powers, was a determinant to this conflict, since Truman had gotten an okay for him to send U.N troops to help fight the battle in North Korea. He wished to punish South Korea for starting this invasion, as well as to unite the two once more; even though China saw the U.S troops as a threat.

After a long stalemate, in 1953, an armistice was signed to stop the fight. At the very end of this war, nothing had changed.

The fighting that had gone on for 3 years had been for naught, as politics, society, and economy stayed still in all of it. The only change to come out was the understanding of how useless this fight was to the U.S, providing aid only due to the political stand points they had about aggressive, radical anti-communist views, doing more harm than good for Korean lives.

Kennedy was not only loved by his political party (liberal), but adored by the nation, too. Although many had worries as to him being inexperienced and a Roman Catholic, he still won at a landslide. Perceived as a family man, Kennedy rose to popularity, showing that a simple dad was capable of being president. But, that was not the only reasons for his elections and fame, as his campaign for president was one of the best in time.

Kennedy was also responsible for a military plan, one that would strengthen the nuclear weapons they had, but never to be used and to be banned from ever using in minor squables.

Many organizations such as HUAC were created to keep a report on anyone suspected communist.
