What I gained from this usrah

I remembered what it feels like to be with a group of people with the intention of talking about Islam. I gained much knowledge and got to meet up with many types of people. With that comes a new-found respect and admiration for the people around me and how lucky I am to be living this peaceful life. In addition, I realise how precious our religion is. It is not just a belief in something, but a different way of life. The peaceful way that I hope many will find.

Improvements

- Our faci did really well at guiding our sessions to become productive yet fun.
- The little improvements are more ice-breaking sessions to get much closer to each other

Hikmah

- As humans we have many imperfections, some of them including being arrogant holding our mighty pride as if it something to boast for. At the end of the day we will all end up in the same place, the grave.
- We have to always remember Allah SWT in everything we do, the best way to do so is by solat. Solat is our one foundation to never let go of. No matter how busy or tired we are, we have to remember to pray early, never rush it, and keep our intentions pure and be 'ikhlas'.
- After that we'll find ourselves appreciating and wanting to live a more islamic life by following the sunnah, remember the people and nature around us are there for a reason.

- Although the al-Quran is over 1400 years old. It proves itself it still can be applied with the modern times. This, more than anything, shows how great Allah is. No one can serve a book thats as old as times, with scientific statements and the past, present and future of humankind . Previous books only served particular subjects like du'a and moral values

- Therefore, we as a muslim have the responsibilty to read an understand the holy book as much as we can, in an attempt to get closer to god.

- I always wondered why the people of Mecca would actually believe and follow Prophet Muhammad's words of surrender to Allah. It turns out he is known as al-Amin, the faithful and trustworthy in Mecca. We should also apply that to the best we can within this modern society that's brimming with deception. Being truthful or 'ikhlas' is the best thing we can do to keep our intentions and actions pure.
- We should also remember of the hereafter. It's the minor signs that are happening that we should always be aware of. LGBT, for example, has become so widespread and promoted that it somehow become a normalised thing that shoudlnt have been. The hereafter is coming wheter we like it or not and we have to arm ourselves with as much knowledge as possible.

- It's the simplest things that we tend to miss out. Remembering and understanding the Pillars of Islam is one of those things.
- We should hold dearly to these pillars. If not, not only our Iman will crash but Allah will be greatly dissapointed and loose hope on us. We are nothing without god. It is we who need Him.

Week 1 - Acquisition Of Hikmah

Setting the right intention is crucial.

Sincerity to Allah : to seek his pleasure and worship rather than others.
Avoid showing-off : protect self from evil eye by keeping things private.

Apply the right action.

Reflect on intentions
Adhere ethical principles by seeking Allah's guidance.

Internalizing ihsan

Focus on quality of the act than the quantity and aim for deeper conncetion with Allah.
Display excellence in behaviour and conduct to others

Week 2- Hikmah From Ibadah

Salah

not only a means of wirship but a way to maintain regular mindfullness.
a symbol of submission, discipline and spiritual connection

Sawm

time for increased devotion and empathy to the less fortunate.
a spiritual growth and closeness to Allah

Zakah

to cleanse and purify the soul by having the right intention
crete mutual support and care between people of Islam

Hajj

a spritual journey as a way to purify the soul
seek forgiveness, repentance and a fresh start in their relationship with Allah
