Head: I noticed the notice and note strategy, aha moment on page 48, "...I suddenly realized that I was going to like school. No matter what." This shows that Auggie was starting to like school and this might be a good decision for him. On page 34, the mom said to Auggie that he doesn't have to go to school if he doesn't want to but Auggie said he really wants to go. This proves that Auggie is starting to like school more. I am curious to learn more about how Auggie transitions throughout school because I know that most books follow a problem and solution timeline. 

Heart: I felt empathetic towards Auggie while reading this section of Wonder. He had no say in the way his body was made and from his perspective, I can see how challenging his life is.Requiring so much medical attention and sticking out in crowds is tough.On page 4, it says, "Next week I start fifth grade. Since I have never been to a real school before, I am pretty much totally and completely terrified." This shows how Auggie didn't have the chance to get a real education because of a medical condition he has. I am the same age as Auggie and have empathy for him. I also feel bad fro him because he has a different social life than most of us. He looks different so it might be a little harder for him to make friends with others. In my head, I wondered if Summer, Jack Will, Charlotte, and kind of Julian will be Auggie's only friends throughout the book or he will make more and others will realize what he is on the inside matters more than the outside. I also wondered if Auggie might change his opinion about school. At the end of the pages we read, Auggie seemed to like school, but at the beginning didn't. I wonder if he would have the same opinion he had before he started school about not going to like it or being scared to go.

Book: August started to get used to middle school. Like people wouldn’t stare at him as much and he knew where all his classes are and he knew all of his teachers. On page 51 August is sitting at a lunch table all alone but then the girl asks August if anyone was sitting there August replied no. The girl asked for August’s name. August said my name is August. The girl said my name is Summer. Summer thought it was cool because August is in the summer and her name is Summer.Then August and Summer became friends. On page 73 August was looking for a costume to wear because it was Halloween. August was taking a while to pick and his dad kept telling him to hurry. August put on the bleeding scream costume. August said he liked this costume because it came with a mask so people did not know it was him under the mask. When August arrived at his homeroom he overheard Jack Will talking to Julian. They were saying if they were August they would die because of his face. Then Julian asked why Jack was friends with August and Jack said that August just follows him around and the principal tells him to be friends with him. August couldn’t believe what he just heard. August went out of the room and started to cry and he couldn’t stop. August went to the nurse and said that his stomach and he was not lying, his stomach did really hurt. When August got home he threw up.

He said he didn’t want to go trick or treating which surprised his mom because August’s favorite holiday is Halloween. Then his sister Via convinced  him to go trick or treating and the Halloween parade. Now August thinks that everyone who ever became friends with him pretends to and he tells Summer that she can stop pretending to be his friend and Summer is his actual friend and does not pretend and she gets mad but then Summer says she is his real friend and shows she wasn’t crossing her fingers or toes. Kids at the school made up this thing called this thing called Plague where if you get touched by August you have the Plague and Summer said it was dumb and she does not care if she gets touched by August.

Head: August and Summer look like they are good friends because Summer told August what she wanted to be for Halloween. At first Summer said that August is the only person that will know. Summer said August please don’t laugh then she said I am going to be a unicorn. August giggled a little so did summer but then August said that would be a nice costume and gave her some ideas for the costume . I feel like August should go back to school no matter what those kids say.  It is rude that kids came up with this thing called the Plague and if they touch August you get the Plague which Summer thought was dumb. Heart: I feel bad for August when he found out what lamb to the slaughter means. It means someone not knowing what's going to happen to them. My heart felt so bad for August when he heard Jack Will and Jiulan talking about him and Jack said that August isn't his friend. The principal Mr. Tushman told him to hang out with him and then August ran and went to the nurse and went home. It's nice that Summer is saying to everyone that August is just a kid. It's nice that Summer does not care about the Plague and even if August touches her she will act normal. I feel heartbroken for August  because now he thinks everyone that is friends with him was tolled to be friends with him because the principal Mr.Tushman told them to, and then August came to school thinking Summer is not his friend and he tells Summer to stop pretending to be friends with him but Summer wants to be friends with him and then she tells August that she is his real friend and she shows him that she’s not crossing her fingers and toes and August says are you sure and Summer goes I promise.

Head: In my head I was wondering why Jack Will would talk bad behind Auggie's back and why  does summer wanted to be a unicorn for halloween I feel bad for Via her mom always cares about Auggie. Also Summer is very kind and nice to Auggie she is a true friend to Auggie. Why would kids be so mean to Auggie he is normal kid like everyone else and someone made and thing were if  you touch Auggie you will get a disease which is really really really rude and mean. Auggie is a normal person so treat him like a normal person

Heart: I feel bad that Auggies, one of best friends, was really mean to him and people call him Zombie boy and they say if you touch him you will get a disease called plague which whoever made that up is very rude and mean. I feel bad for for Auggie that he was feeling sick and he did not want to go trick or treating because he did not feel good to go and halloween is his favorite holiday ever it beats christmas.

to be home schooled when he went he mad friends one of there names was Charoltte and one of them were also Jack will and summer. at lunch summer would always sit next to Auggie she did not care what anyone would think Auggie would always make jokes and they would laugh they would have full converstaion.On page 130 Auggie was talking to summer and then summer asked what happens to your face he tried pronouncing it but he did he told her that it took him years to say then Auggie said I am a cool beans summer and Auggie laughed with joy. in page 77 Auggie heard Jack say that Auggies face was ugly Auggie cried under neath his mask. I think Jack did not mean it because I think he wants to be in the cool kid group. If Jack did maybe he did not like him anymore. That day Auggie went home early feeling sick Via tried to make Auggie feel better and it worked with a lot of talking Auggie is still going to school.

Head:  I wonder what  will happen if Aggie keeps on getting bullied. I wonder if Aggie keeps  on getting bullied  if he will move to a now school.

Heart: I feel bad for Aggie because he keeps on getting bullied. He only has one friend so far. A boy named Henry is trying to be his friend but he really doesn’t want to be his friend. Henry wants to hang out with the cool kids and not Aggie.

In the book “Wonder,”in the chapter “A Tour of the Galaxy” it is being told from the main character's sister's perspective. The author wants me to know that Via, the main character’s sister, never has time to spend with her parents because they are always watching over her brother August. It is now being told from Summers perspective.

Head: 

The author thinks that I already knew that Via was a very selfless person and can do a lot of things on her own, making her very independent. This was confirmed because Via talks about how she organizes her life, “never missed a friend's birthday party, taught herself math by converting fractions to decimals just by going online.” I noticed that Via's parents never have time for her because August is always going to doctor’s appointments.  I noticed that in part 3 page 118 it is being told from summers perspective, Summer is the girl who sits with August at lunch.

Heart:

In the chapter, “Names” I felt bad for August because he was crying. He was sad because Jack Will was talking about him negatively with two classmates, Julian and Henry. I felt differently about Jack Will in this chapter because in the beginning of the book he was very kind and respectful to August. In this chapter, it made me think differently because he was saying rude and unkind things about August and what he looked like. I am getting nervous going into the chapter “November” because Summer needs to choose between August and Julian. This makes me nervous because if she goes with Julian, August will have no friends. In the last chapter “ This Kid Is Rated : R”  I was so happy for August because he got to go to Summer’s house and he had a lot of fun there.

Heart: this book makes me feel bad because he doesn’t have any friends (except for Summer) he is the mane attraction to bullies.

Head: I noticed that Summer is a compassionate person. Julian was nice until he said some  mean things about Auggie. Will Auggie ever go back to school after the boys made fun of him? Why are kids so cruel?  I noticed that you shouldn't judge someone by their apperance because you don't know what people are going through. The kids at Auggieś new school didn´t  know what he had been through. I think that Via is a caring sister and she loves Auggie and will do anything to help him get better and fit in. I was  surprised about how  much Via does and how much responsibility she has. What are eye cavities? What does Auggie look like, what color is his hair, what color is his eyes? I think that Via is getting frustrated with her parents because they are putting more love and attention into Auggie. A question I asked  myself is how did he think that Julian was going to  be boba fett and not something else. A question I  have is why did he throw up and not want to go trick or treating. I think that Summer and Auggie will become best friends and have each other's back. What is the word Biracial?

Heart:  I felt sad when  Auggie overheard kids talking about him and saying that he looks ugly and all other sorts of mean words. I felt  sad because Auggie had lost his grandmother and Via spent so much time with her. How does he go through all of these procedures and not get so nervous and scared to do those from the age of 4 and 10. This is making me feel sad because he went to the nurse with a headache and he felt like he got punched in the gut because of what Julian,Miles and Henry were saying about him. I feel kind  of annoyed because those kids are talking about Auggie and they said he looked like a zombie. Julian likes Summer and she is not going into the group; she is not ditching Auggie. I think that Auggie feels ¨normal¨ when he's with Summer because she doesn't make a big deal about how he looks.

Head: I noticed that on page 76 and 77 August felt betrayed and hurt because his best friend Jack Will said that if he looked like that he would kill himself. “ and I really think ….. If i looked like him, seriously, i think that id kill myself.” I am curious to know if Auggie is going to still be friends with Jack Will after this.  Also I wonder if he is going to confront him about what he and his friends said.  Or if it was not true and he was just trying to be cool and fit in with the “cool kids”.

Heart: One of my feelings during the book is sad.  I feel sad for Auggie because he is getting made fun of for being different and all he wants to do is fit in.  I also feel angry at the way the other kids are treating him.  They talk behind his back and stare at him and make weird faces.  Sometimes during the book I feel impatient because I want to know how he is going to react to what is being said about him.

He said his stomach hurt and his mom picked him up.Now its part two and getting told by via’s point of view. Via’s talking mostly about when August was born. They also talked about Via’s experience in highschool.

Head: Why did he say he wants to go to school? Did his stomach hurt because they bullied him? Why does Via side have more  information than Aggies side? Is it going to get told by their parents next? Why did the boy's words make him skip Halloween? Does Via like spending time with Auggie? Why when it’s Via side It’s about when august was a baya and her being in high school but when it Aggies side it’s all about getting bullied.

Heart:I feel bad for him because when he finally decided to go to school he got bullied.I feel kinda sad for Via that her brother looks like that. I feel mad at the bullies. I feel sad that Julin and Jack were fake friends. I feel like he’s maybe going to quit school. I felt happy for Aggie when a girl named Summer became his friend.

Head: I feel like it is a good decision for Auggie because he can experiment what school is like because he has never gone to school before. On pg 66 Auggie was telling his mom who he wanted to invite to his party. For halloween he was going to be Boba Fett but went as the bleeding scream.I noticed that Auggie started to like school at one point in the book, I am excited to read about how Auggie is in school this year for his first time and I hope he makes a lot of bestfriends and that kids do not care about his face no more.   

Heart: This made me feel happy that Auggie has a new friend that is Summer but also sad because Jack Will said a mean comment about Auggie and Auggie trusted Jack Will always. But Auggie always wanted to be good friends with Jack but Jack talked behind his back. This can be a lesson because if you talk behind someone's back you can not be trusted by that person any more and you can maybe break your relationship  with your friend or even family members. But the relationship between Summer and Auggie is great. 

The book is now in Via’s perspective and she is explaining how things are going on her end. She explained how she got used to not always getting attention. While Auggie was at the hospital, or getting surgery, she stayed with her grandma in Montauk. But she sadly passed the day before Halloween. Via is also having some problems with high school. Her and Amanda are in a fight or just stopped talking because she had changed into some jerky person.

Head: Is Auggie mad or sad about not wearing boba fett or that he wishes he did. Because he found out the truth but now he lost one of his friends. But he also wishes he didn’t hear the truth because the truth hurts. I was surprised when Auggie ended up wearing his last year costume because of via. It was confirmed that Auggie did end up telling Via about Jack Will. But I still wonder if he will ever tell Summer? Or will Jack figure out he knew?, is Auggie over it?, or will mom find out, and what will she do? I also wonder if everyone knows Auggie’s story, maybe  they would stop being rude and have some more respect.

Heart: I feel bad for Auggie. He is having a hard time at school and that makes me so sad, and that's why I will never bully anyone, because I don’t want them to be miserable. He has to go through a lot, he had physical pain with 27 surgeries, and he gets lots of mental pain like stares, mean names, rude comments, and bullying. Hearing about Auggies situation taught me to be thankful that I didn't have to go through 27 surgeries,and that makes me realize that Auggie is so strong and so is his family. I would not be able to handle all of  the hate, but Auggie manages to do it. So I can understand when he hears a mean comment and he will go home and cry.  

Auggie started his new school. On his first day he was nervous to meet new people because of the way he looked, so he kept his head down and tried not to be noticed. Many people reacted to his appearance while some didn’t seem to mind. He made friends with Jack Will because he was in most of his classes and Summer, a girl who sat with him at lunch. On Halloween, he was so excited to wear a costume with a mask but when he got to school he overheard Jack say he wished Auggie would stop following him around.

Part Two, started to tell Auggie’s story from Via’s perspective. She was four when Auggie was born and since then felt like her needs were not as important as Auggie’s.

Head: 

Auggie was liking school. In Mr. Browne’s class he learned a new precept each month, which the students needed to learn and write about.  As school continued some kids still stared at Auggie because of his appearance. Some of the kids like Julian pretended to be nice but were really mean. He thought he could be friends with Jack and Summer. But on Halloween he felt betrayed by what Jack said when he didn't know who Auggie was.

Part Two, was from Via’s perspective. Because of Auggie’s condition she learned from an early age that his needs would be more important than hers. She was able to stay with her grandma during Auggie’s surgery and enjoyed spending the time with her. 

Heart:

Auggie’s feelings were hurt when he felt betrayed by Jack. He was sick to his stomach and didn’t want to go back to school. He didn’t like feeling so different than everyone else. 

Via feels less important than her brother and starting a new High School is difficult for her as well but feels like she can not share how she is feeling.. She feels like her parents focus more on Auggie than her. She loved her grandma but no longer has her to share her feelings with.

Head: 

Why did Jack ditch August if he was a good friend? Why did August not want to take a photo? Does he think he is ugly? Why do they play the plague it's a game about the cheese touch or something like that they think that august has the cheese touch and that isn't kind because they are thinking that he has the cheese touch

Heart: I feel bad for August because Jack ditch him by talking bad about him and I felt bad for him because he lost a friend. I feel bad for August for kids bullying him. It's not right like think that august having the plague because image you putting your shoes in his you would feel bad and sad that there doing that like its bad 

Head: I was surprised that jack was so rude about auggie when he talked to julian when august consederied him as his bestfriend. 

Heart: i felt bad for via because her friend miranda always liked auggie and always tried to include him in conversations and things they did. Over the summer though via and miranda didnt connect over the summer because one of them always had something to do and  the other friend of miranda and via had been doing things without via and thats why i feel bad that via wasnt being included and that made her feel sad.

1. In high school Auggie is going to take the subway to school with his dad because Auggies mom doesn't trust him taking it by himself.

2. Auggie's favorite holiday is halloween.

3. I do not think that Auggie did not feel good after Savannah's party. I think that he just wanted to go home to just see his family.

4. I could make a connection with Auggie because I would be mad and sad if random strangers just looked at me and gave me weird faces.

Head:

1. I'm surprised that Auggies mom doesnt let him take the subway by himself at age 15.

2. I feel bad for Auggie because a lot of people just keep on looking at him like he is a famous celebrity, even grown adults look at him weird, like when the teacher looked at him then she stopped.

3. I'm surprised that Auggies class had a whole class of summer names, for me I could only think of like 2 but they had people like Maya and june.

Heart:

1. I would be sad if Auggies mom was my mom because if everyone in the class takes the subway alone and I'm the only one that does not then I would feel sad and left out.

2. I would also feel sad if somebody left my party because they wanted to just hang out with their  family members.

3. I Am happy for Auggie that he is not behind in school. I think at this point he doesn't care that he is different from all the other students.

In wonder by Rj Pacifco the book is about a boy named Agust but he likes to go by Aguie. he has a birth deformity that makes him look different than other people. and people always stare at him and he pretends not to care. and also he is treated differently then other people because he is different from everyone.

Something that surprised me was that jack was secretly talking behind aguies back and then he heard it and started crying and jack did not know it was him so aguie lost a friend aguie really thought that jack was his friend. But jack was faking all along. And it was on his favriote holiday!

This made me feel bad for auggie because he is such a nice kid and does nothing wrong to the other kids in his grade. He is always kind and nice to all of his peers and just because he looks a little different he gets bullied. This also made me learn that you shouldent judge someone from the outside it is what is on the inside and also to dont judge a book by its cover.

Book: in chapters 13-42 it started when it was lunch and Aggie had to sit alone but then a girl came along and joined Aggie and her name is Summer and she became Aggie best friend and he has lots of friends like Julian, Charlotte , Mr. Tushman , Mrs Garcia ,Mr Browne and he use to be friend with jack will  Aggie gets a lot of attention like when Aggie have to go to his surgeries there mom goes with him leaving via with her grandmothers but she still loves Aggie very very much  i will tell you why Aggie does not like jack will because at the Halloween party jack will said something mean about Aggie in front of the cool kids and he wanted to fit in

Head: what surprised me is  that why in the Halloween party jack will say that mean thing is it because he want to fit in with the cool kids a questions i asked myself in the end of chapter time to think it said part three summer you beautiful  are no matter what they say word can’t bring you down you are beautiful in every single way yes word can bring you down what does that

Heart: this how does change my feeling is that i feel bad for Aggie because he has to get so many surgeries i can imagine me get so many surgeries i can make a connections with this is when i had to get stitches because i cut my foot with glass cup i had butterflies in my stomach that time i was so scared when they put my stitches on i thought i was going to vomit  mean

 In the book Wonder for this week We found out that Auggie was making a lot of new friends, Some of his/her friends were bullying him though like when Jamie was bullying Auggie because she asked purposely and sarcastically [but not in a good way] ´´Do you remember Auggie the kid with the face´´. I bet Auggie is used to that now but again Jamie just keeps on bullying him when Auggie is doing nothing. Again she was bullying him when she also asked PURPOSELY to her mom ´´Why is he just so ugly.´´ Jamie should have gotten in a little bit more trouble because when Jamie said that her mom yelled ´´HEY, I don't like that word´´ She kind of felt a tiny bit bad in a way and I hope that she learned her lesson. What I also noticed about this book is that it is being told from a lot of other people's perspectives, For example The chapter Detention was being told from Jack Will´s perspective, And it is usually Auggies perspective because in the first chapter of the book it was Auggie's perspective, I thought that was going to be the whole book but it was not.

Head: 

I am surprised that Auggie did not tell the truth because I thought that Auggie was joe king for sure when him and Julian where trying to figure out which sledding hill to go to then they suggested A hill called Skeleton hill ´´Ah that one is too babyish´´ Julian said. ´´WHAT somebody broke their neck there you know´´ Auggie said. I dont think someone actually broke their neck there I just think that Auggie was being sarcastic because I don't think he actually

Heart:

I feel bad for Auggie in school because everyone is making fun of him, like where everyone started this thing called the Plague where if you touch Auggie you have 30 seconds to wash your hands or find hand sanitizer, and unfortunately if you don't then you have the Plague. If I were in this book I would never do such a thing but, I am also getting a little more happier for Auggie because each day goes by he is kind of making a little bit of some new friends, For example he met Summer, Jammie, Charlotte and a lot of other people. Also I feel really bad for Julian because his own friend Jack punched him in the mouth. They were fighting about something extremely silly, they were fighting about what partners they had, So Jack got mad and made a bad chose to punch his friend in the face/mouth.

Head: In my head i felt bad for auggie because first via would not want to invite auggie to her play and second his dog daisy was almost about to die and that all happened in one day.

Since Jack and auggie are friends again, that made me really happy because Jack was always Auggie's friend.

Heart:

In my heart feel happy and sad because auggie was screaming at the mom and via because auggie really wanted to go the via’s play but via said no because she did not want auggie to embarrass herself. I feel happy because jack and auggie are friends.

Head: What surprised me the most was after page 132 going into 133, This surprised me because Jack was not so surprised or shocked when Summer had given him a hint on why Auggie was mad at him, the hint was, “Bleeding scream.” This was the hint because on Halloween Auggie was wearing a bleeding scream costume, and heard what Jack was saying. Jack knew that there was someone standing behind him wearing a bleeding scream costume, when he heard this he knew it was Auggie. Something that surprised me was when Jack punches Julain in the face when he was making fun of Auggie and bad mouthing him.  I was surprised that Jack Will and Auggie are friends because of what Jack said. But I also understand why, it is because Auggie is a very understanding and forgiving person. I was thinking that in the chapter “ Back from winter break” Julian did something to make everyone avoid Jack Will. One thing that made me think really hard was, when Miranda said,”The universe was not very kind to Auggie Pullman. Another thing that surprised me was that the doctor knew so much about Star Wars because it's also something Auggie loves.  

Heart: A connection I can make is in the chapter “Snow”, I can make a connection because when I was in first grade It snowed and nobody canceled school and we were all playing with the snow on the blacktop. I felt terrible for Jack because he had realized the hint that Summer had given him:”Bleeding Scream”.He picked up on this and realized that Auggie knew what he had said about him even though Jack did not mean to hurt his feelings, He just wanted to be a cool kid with Julain,Henry And Miles. I was extremely sad when Jack Will said, “I heard that Julain’s mom actually photoshopped August’s face out of the class picture when she got it…” I felt confused when Jack was saying hello to everyone but no one was answering him, they just nodded and walked away,I was confused because everybody used to be friends with him. I felt so happy for August in the chapter “Switching Tables” . I was happy because he had Summer to sit with before and then he had Jack Will come over and sit with him. This meant he was making more friends. I felt so bad for Justin because he was saying that he never got any attention from his family and nobody even knows that he exists. I felt so so so sad in the chapter “goodbye” . The reason I felt sad was because the dog, Daisy, passed away, she passed away because she was sick.

Head:  What surprised me was that Jack was saying some mean things when he heard that he was one of the kids who had to help Auggie and he said ¨why me¨. Something I noticed is that Jack was the first one to see Auggie when he was younger. What does phony mean? What does scolded mean? What does sympathetic mean? What I noticed is that Jack is  a good kid but he was sticking up for Auggie when he punched Julian.  What surprised me was that Auggie sent Jack a Christmas card when they were not talking to each other. A question I asked myself is why is Jack giving Mr Tushman a big letter but Julian a small letter and why is Julian not really taking in this information. A question I have is what does expulsion mean? A question I have is why is Julian's mom saying all these mean things about Auggie. What surprised me was  that it was just Jack with Summer,Auggie was sitting at the lunch table and Summer said why are you not dating Charlotte.  I think that they are old enough to date. What does mischievously mean? Why did Via come home but bring a boy with. A question I have is why is Justin waiting  with Jack. What does psyched mean? What does taciturn mean?

Heart: I feel  kind of unhappy because Jack did not  want to spend time  with Auggie when he is just a regular kid. If I was asked to do something like helping someone that is new to the school or even any time I would help them because I would know all  the teachers and where everything is. I would put myself in their shoes to know how they feel. I feel horrible for Jack because he realized why Auggie is mad at him. I feel bad for Auggie because they are talking about him and he doesn't even know they are.I feel bad for Jack because he is getting bullied for sticking up for Auggie. I am happy for Jack and Auggie because they became friends  again. I feel bad for Jack because Julian is getting his payback on Jack and everyone but a few people  are ghosting him. I feel bad for Auggie because he doesn't want to get bullied for wearing the hearing aids. I feel bad for Auggie,Mom and Via because Daisy was very sick and she was dying and it was probably  the last time they saw her.

Head: It surprised me that the kids were saying August has cooties and the plague and because of the war everyone got bored of it so now everyone is kinder and neutral to August. When Julian said that Jack snapped under the pressure and they started the war Jack probably felt alone and like august. When Jack was meeting Via for the first time, Via had a face and I think it was because she remembered Jack's face from Carvel a long time ago.

Heart: I felt glad that Jack finally understood why August was mad at him so then Jack can fix it and they can be friends again because Jack really likes August as a friend. I feel bad everyone is ditching jack because of what Julian said. I also felt happy that people were treating August like he was just a regular person and not different from everyone else because of his face

It is now Thanksgiving and the start of winter. So that means snow, and everyone loves to sled. In chapter “Sled” at recess Julian, Jack, and Miles were talking about sledding. Turns out that the sled that Jack had found and had taken, was Miles old one that he left, went back but it was gone. Calling whoever took it a “hobo” (meaning of a really poor person, almost like homeless.) So Jack started to walk away in embarrassment.

In the chapter “In Science” pg 151 Jack had punched Julian in the mouth in chapter partners page 153 because Jack got partnered with Auggie and Julian called Auggie a Freak. And like a good friend stood up for Auggie. He also put himself at risk for Auggie Just like Auggie did when he took the blame for them cheating on a test.

Jack has now put himself in a bad situation. In the chapter The war on page 170 Charlotte had told Jack about how Julian had a huge party and he went around telling everyone that Jack had punched him because he had emotional problems. Does Jack really deserve this though?

Head: Throughout reading, I noticed that Auggie is mostly mentally debilitated. Although, he also acts like a normal kid, playing PlayStation, and goes to the park, just lives life. While I was reading Ex-Friends I thought So now Jacks acting all innocent when Auggie did the right thing by ignoring and stopped being friends with Jack. I also realized that if the author put Summers' perspective one of the first that makes me think that she is a really important character.

I also got really confused from Jack talking bad about Auggie to fit in with Julian and his friends, to punching and standing up for Auggie against Julian. So I just think Jack started to show some regret, and realized he would have Auggie as a friend, then Julian, a popular kid.

Jack has now put himself in a bad situation. Does Jack really deserve this though? Jack is a great kid so it is sad to see him be treated like this. I realized that Jack is trying to make it up to Auggie, and show him what person he actually is.

Heart: I felt so bad because Auggie is this really nice friend. They tell each other secrets, they would copy each other's tests and homework, they would even stick up for each other. But now Jack just betrayed him for Julian and the “Cool Kids.”  Even Jack actually has some difficulties in his life. He doesn't have that much money. So he's having some trouble too. I personally know that being left out or not knowing anyone doesn’t feel that good. I wonder if that ever happened to Jack? Because Jack has left Auggie out before. So if he has been through that then he would know that it doesn’t feel so good so why does he do it? 

Head: Will Jack get expelled forever because he punched Julian. Also will Jack tell Mr.Tushman the real reason why he punched Julian or will he ever tell his mom.

Will Justin do good in the play and know all his lines. Will Jack be able to get other people on his team? Will Jack ask Charlotte out. Is Jack going to say yes Julian too switch partners. Will Jack sit at the table alone because his friends left him.

Heart:  I felt really bad for August because Julian's mom is trying to put August in a school with kids who have Autism. She is also giving out class pictures without August in it. 

It was very nice that Jack said that he did not want to switch partners with Julian but wasn't nice to punch him even though he was sticking up for August.Its nice that August and Jack got back together. It was good that Justin sucked up for Jack when Julian and his friends were mean. It was nice of Charlotte to tell Jack what was going on with Julian.  

As I was reading this week. We learned Jack and Justin’s perspective. We learned how Jack became friends with Auggie. At first he didn’t want to. He’s mom got a call from Mr. Tushman over the summer to ask if Jack could show Auggie around school. Jack knew who Auggie was because he saw him around town before. He realized that he should step up and be nice to Auggie since most kids his age wouldn’t be. As Jack got to know Auggie at school, he realized that he is really funny and a really nice kid. Jack liked being friends with Auggie. But then on Halloween he said mean stuff about Auggie to Julian and other kids that he didn’t really mean but was just trying to fit in with the rest of the kids. Jack didn’t understand why Auggie didn’t want to be friends with him anymore but once he figured it out he was so disappointed in himself. He wasn’t sure if he could make it right or if he even deserved Auggie’s friendship again. Jack was suspended from school after he punched Julian for saying mean things about Auggie. Jack is a good kid who made a mistake, Mr. Tushman never found out the real reason Jack punched Julian but he did believe in Jack and that he was a good kid and good friend. Over winter break Jack and Auggie became friends again.  However, when they went  back to school, Julian and the other kids started a war. Some of the popular kids sided with Julian and didn’t think that Auggie should attend Beecher Prep. They were not being kind or accepting to Auggie but some of the kids including Jack were. Jack and Summer and a few others knew that even though Auggie looked a little different he was still a normal kid just like them. They chose being kind over being popular!

We also were able to learn about Justin, Via’s boyfriend in the next few chapters. Justin’s family is not as close as Via’s family.  He is learning how much love they all have for eachother. He is seeing how much people care about Auggie. He is not part of the family but he can see how much Jack and Miranda mean to Auggie. He stands up for Jack when he sees the other kids being mean to him. And he is starting to understand that Miranda used to be a big part of Auggie’s life. He is learning just how difficult it is for Via to be Auggie’s sister.

Miranda said something to Justin that stuck with him, the universe was not kind to Auggie Pullman. He is beginning to realize how special it is to be a part of Auggie’s life.

Head: 

As I was reading I found myself wondering what I would do if I was in Jack’s position. I would like to think I would do the same thing. I would be friends with Auggie. I would stand up for him if other kids were being mean to him. I know it wouldn’t be easy but being kind is more important than being popular. Auggie is a good friend. Having one good friend is way more important than having a group of friends who aren’t nice people.  I do wonder though if others may have sided with Julian at first but will eventually realize how great Auggie is and be friends with him too.

I also wonder if Justin will find out from Miranda how she knew Auggie and if Via would tell him.

Heart:

While reading this week, I felt sad. I felt sad for Auggie because he thought Jack was a friend but then Jack said mean stuff. I also felt sad for Jack because he wanted to be friends with Auggie and didn’t understand why Auggie didn’t want to be friends with him anymore. Eventually when Jack figured out why, he was disappointed in himself. Once he figured out how to make it right I was happy that he and Auggie became friends again. I am also frustrated with Julian and the other kids, why do they have to be so mean? Why can’t they just be nice? Is it so difficult to do the right thing? 

Head: is Jackie Jack nickname? Because his mom called him that. After Summer said bleeding scream to Jack he figured it out. At the end of chapter partners Jack punched Julian in the mouth and went to detention and he didn't wanted to say anything and he did that because he noticed that Julian was saying mean things to August but then Jack punched him, and did´t wanted to say anything because he knew if he said something about August to the principal then August would not come because his mom wants him safe. Why did Jack feel weird if he was only coming back?

Heart:I feel bad for August because in page 136 we see that Jack is being mean like he thought that he was wearing a zombie mask being he thought he looked like a zombie. I would be very very excited if I had a snow day because I get a free day off of school and just be relaxing on the day off. I had a connection when I was doing a project and got with my friend and I was happy that I got my friend. Why would they switch tables if their friends, feels sad and depressed. I feel bad for August because in goodbye i think that daisy died because they said goodbye.

Head:What would happen on page one 150 if the kid didn't interrupt jack will like what if they knew that jack will took the sled.I first thought the julin was wearing bleeding scream costume but it was august.I noticed in Justin's perspective he’s making capitalization mistakes like only lower case letters.

Heart:I feel bad for august when i found that august as wearing bleeding scream costume.I was shocked when jack punched Julian.I think Justin feels weirded out that Auggie looks like that.I think Auggie feels embarrassed to wear hearing aid.Auggie is sad his dog is sick.

Book: Jack is telling the story right now and like he saying that he was confused and like wonderd why nobody was talking to him etc. and jack was happy he still had August Summer and Charlotte Jack is grateful that Charlotte told him all that information.

Head: Something that surprised me was Julian spred a runor about Jack and everyone was ghosting him because Juilan said that he has emotional isues and pepole are scared that he will punch them and Charolte told him about it and how Juilan had a party like a BIG PARTY and thats how this rumor started.

Heart: this made me feel surprised because Jack and Juilan are best friends and after Jack punched Julian they parted there ways after that and Jack decied to get him back with the rumor and Jack punched julian because he said something about Aguie and that shows that Jack is a good friend to August and he did NOT MEAN WHAT HE SAID and that proves it.

Head:  In my head i notice that Auggie was talking to jack again when they  had a fight  in the chapter bleeding scream what happen was that jack wanted  to be like the cool kids this  quetsion me because everyone is cool no matter what also jack said if i look like Auggir i would kill myself  he woundnt. Because in one of the recent chapters they got back together they were texting on this app and Jack finally convinced Auggie to be friends again. When it was Via,s boyfriend's perspective Justin talked about how he had this play originally it was going to be something else  but now the play is a different play. When Justin went to Olivia's house they were talking about how some kids aren't nice to Auggie Pullman  and oliva said in the picture in her house that he gave that kid a helmet. Justin said okay? Out of nowhere  they were fighting and oliva started crying because  she didn't tell her parents about the play  justin was trying to help but  olivia  said i don't want them there as tears were streaming down her face  and she gave a reason why it was because she didn't want Auggie Pullman to come because she knew if she invited her parents they would invite Auggie Pullman and his family she mostly didn't want Auggie Pullman to come. She was very upset with more crying as Justin hugged her tightly.  When the dog is going to the hospital Via and Auggie were crying and they were crying before hour later vias  boyfriend justin came over and said sorry Auggie and then Auggie cried an via cried justin gave them both a big tight hug. What I love about Justin is that he doesn't care about Auggie's face and that he wants him to come to the high school play.

Heart: while reading i felt a light bulb go off in my head, a happy one . This was because in wonder Auggie was friends with jack. They were texting  on this app  and then jack wrote something that made Auggie be his friend again.in science when they were ex friends jack struggled with his math test.I know why jack punched  julian it was because  julian said something mean about August and jack got mad and punched julian his knocked out julinas tooth and he was bleeding. Jack had to get out of school for a week before winter break so he could think about his actions. He wrote a note to mr.Tushman and Julian and he was very very very sorry for what he had done to julian. One day after school Summer came over he told jack lots of things that happpend she told jack that there was this huge party that julian invited people expected for you and that everyone was talking mean thing about you 200 hundred people were invited family and family friends everyone expect for you i know said jack you told me he didn't actually say that but  i know that jack just wanted to stick up for his best friend.at school after break no one sat next to him he sat at a table and when they were called up for lunch they switched tabled all the way on the other side thai made jack upset it happened again the next day but the rude teacher caught every single one of them and they went back to there tabled  jack scetrley sat with Auggie and summer because they said come here and they were all talking for a while. After that day Auggie and jack had a science experiment and they went to auggie's house jack said does your sister like me auggie said no not really but anyways  they found which one to do and then via,s boyfriend came her boyfriend didn't care  about how auggie's face looked jack loved auggie star wars room and addiction so did via,s boyfriend.in the chapters it was in via,s boyfriends perspective i could tell because i said his boyfriends name. Talked about how he meet via and how much he loved her from the very beginning  jack and auggie are best friends now but summer found this paper that  charlotte made an dit aid whos said it was on jack had the nerds appenyliy   julain has almost the whole sixth grade on his ide jack wished that things would get better.In vias boyfriend perspective he tackled about the play and went to olivia's house suddenly Oliva cried with tears justin tried to help but then she said why she was crying she was crying because she didn't want her parents to go and because  she knows they would invite Auggie. In my hera t i m]felt sad when the dog threw up and the dog was and old dog and they found out they the dogg was going to die and before Auggie screamed at via and his mom  after that vias and Auggie cried mom left via shut the door also an hour later via,s boyfriend justin came over and sai sorry Auggie auggie crie dnad vai cried then justin hugged them both.

 On page number 134 the story started off with the call.What happened in the call was that jack’s mom got an important call from mr. tushman.When jack;s mom got off the call jack was ceres what mr.tushman  had said. Jack's mom said that there was this new boy that had never went to school before,so mr. tushman said if jack can give this new boy a tour of the school.but i notes that jack said ‘’but why me’’he also said to his mom ‘’Do I have to’’,his mom was surprised that he said that.the name of the boy was august as we no all retey.jack was starting to be mean to auggie because he said uhh when jack saw auggie and he said that he would never get used to his face.auggie was talking about what he was going to be for halloween  and at first he was going to be booda fet but ended up going as the   bleeding  scream.all so the perspectives changed. Auggie made a friend named Summer too.   

Head: 

jack and jullian got in a fight and they got spended.so thay rot letters saying sorry.when jack came back from sponson everybody was acting weird,i say that because when jack said hi to some kids that wod ignore him.julian had a holiday party and she toll everyone that auggie hit her bc he had  emotional problems

Heart:Julian said that he thinks Jack being friends with Auggie is bringing him down and to not be Auggies friend any more for his good. And i notest that Charlotte is a very nice girl because she is telling Jack why the whole school is doing that. Via has a boyfriend now and auggie met him.jack got up off his tadel and started walking and the teacher was yelling jacks name and he just walk.auggie and summer said ro sit with them.

Head: I think that Justin is a very nice person towards Via and Auggie because he does not laugh about Auggie and his face and he makes Via not sad and makes her not feel negative about herself. Also Jack should have not of punches Juilian because now everyone thinks he

Heart: These chapters made me feel hurt that not a lot of people are on Jack's side because. Jack is a good person and lots of people are on Juliana's side because Juliana is popular. He is not kind like Jack because Jack choses kindness over being popular. 

Head: As I was reading, many thoughts went through my mind. I found myself wondering if August was going to be friends with Jack again, and asking myself questions like ‘why did Jack make that decision?’ and ‘what will happen next to August?’ These questions kept me enraged, eagerly turning pages to uncover more about the plot and understand the characters’ motivations. Some of my questions were gradually answered, like does August have a dog? And the answer was yes, while others remained, sparking my curiosity and encouraging me to think more deeply about the story’s events and themes. Overall.diving into these questions made my reading experience more immersive and enjoyable, and left me thinking about “treat others the way you want to be treated” by the end. 

Heart: While reading this week, I felt confident. This was because August after losing his friend he actually got his friend back, such as when Jack was talking negatively about August. Additionally, when Julian got what he deserved and lost a friend, like when Jack apologized and then asked August  to be his friend again, contributed to my emotional response. Through these feelings, I learned that you always must be nice even when no one is looking, such asJack learned he needed to be nice to August. This helped me understand to never be a bully ever, showing me that Julian might get kicked out of school.

.He didn’t talk to him he only talked to him if they really needed to like can I borrow a eraser and that would be it when the bell rang they will go their separate ways.During recess Jack hit Julian he punched him in the face one of his tooth fell out and it was a grown up tooth he was sent to the principal's office and they had a talk saying not to do it again and i won’t suspend you one it's almost a long break and second if you email me and Julian saying sorry and telling him I didn’t mean to ok “ok” Jack responded.Over the long break Jack sent a email to Julian saying sorry and to the principle saying i know what I did and I am sorry.The parents also had a talk and saying Auggie shouldn't be in our school he has special needs but he doesn't is what the principle responded.then Jack had a talk with Auggie but texting saying sorry because he thought about it and he realized what summer meant he remember there was a bleeding scream in front of him while he said that.so he texted him sorry but Auggie said you know why your mad at you?sumer told me and i thought you were going to be bobo feit.Auggie said i changed my mind and they asked to be friends and now they are.Then they went back to school and everyone was afraid of Jack didn’t know what was wrong no one talked to him at lunch he sat with two kids and when they went up for lunch they had their food but they changed seats it made Jack feel sad and the two kids got in trouble and the lunch teacher told them to go back but Jack changed seats before they came back.He sat with Auggie and Summer Jack told them what was happening and Auggie said “welcome to my world.”

He didn’t know what was happening until Charlotte filled him in on everything. She told him why everyone doesn’t go near you because they are scared of you and Juloan had a huge party over the break he invited everyone, well almost everyone and I mean huge and Julian made everyone go against Jack.Now that Jack and Auggie are friends they have to work on a project and Jack went to Auggie’s house to decide what project they wanted to do the project they both decided on was potato lamp it’s a lamp powered by a potato and Via said that one of her friends are coming over and they said ok 5 minutes later a guy came in with this case They said it looked like a machine gun but it wasn't is was a zydeco it is a instrument.They had no idea what via’s “boyfriend” was talking about and they asked if he was from new york but he said no i’m from brooklyn and they looked at eachother and almost let out a laugh but via pulled Justin’s arm and took him to his room Auggie and Jack were laughing crazy and they can hear them through the door mocking him saying “brooklyn”.In via’s room Via just fell back on her bed and grabbed a polar  bear plush and had a talk with Justin at the end of the conversation Via kissed the polar bear and tossed it to Justin.Via and Justin wanted to be in the school play and they did they got parts and their was this pink haired girl and justin didn’t think that she was a kind person.then the pink haired girl asked Justin if you've seen right Auggie? He responded with you know Auggie he thought of responding with a question and to his surprise she pulled out her wallet and took out a picture it was a boy wearing a astronaut helmet and he started to realize that Auggie she said “ya i gave him that helmet he didn’t take it off for like two years”Then Justin thought if you know Auggie that means you know Via and he was correct.when Justin saw Via again he was not mad but said “why didn’t you tell me this, you never told me this the pink haired girl knows you who she is?” All of a sudden Via shed a tear and she said “i’m a terrible person” she kept repeating and Justin wasn’t mad and didn’t know if he was mad at him or something else she said that she was a horrible person is because she didn’t tell anyone about her play.Because she didn’t want Auggie to be there.

Head: I noticed that in wonder Jack is starting to be less famous and knows how Auggie feels and now Jack isn’t with the cool kids and he left them because he didn’t like him I predict Jack and Auggie are going to be the most best of friends and people are going to make fun of them for some reasons but they won’t care they will ignore and I feel like Jack’s old friends like Julian are going to be jealous of them because hoe happy they might get and try to ruined their friendship.

Heart: In wonder I always felt bad for Auggie sometimes most of the times then because he wants to be normal but then he gets so many friends makes them and it’s a funny book and it’s sad sometimes but funny most of the time’s wonder such a great book.For julian i like how they made him this type of charter it impacts the story by giving drama like when Charlotte told Jack how Julian hosted this big party big party really big she said and everyone was invited but not Jack,so it gives this story more action and seeing what's going to happen next.Also Via has a lot on her shoulder she has a brother with Mandibulofacial Dysostosis or something wrong with his face and it’s hard for her to make friends if people seen her brother all of her friends would not be her friend anymore because of her brother.And it’s not her fault or Auggie’s fault either.Via’s friends  that ever came to her house it was only one time they never went a second time.

In the book Wonder by RJ Pacifico it talks about a kid named August but he likes to go by Auggie he was home schooled until now. So  via’s   kind of EX friend named Miranda in this part of the book we learned that Daisy died which was Augie's dog and that Miranda's parents got in a divorce so no one would come to her show so she gave her role to Via which is auggies sister Miranda just gave it to her because first she knew that she wanted it to be with her boyfriend Justin and no one came too Miranda show.

Head: 

In my head i felt happy and sad because Miranda's parents got into an argument and they got divorced  and then when she went to camp she was lying about her background she said her parents are in  Europe she has a brother that is  deformed but actually she was talking about Auggie  and Miranda treats Augie like her own brother. Also  Miranda is an actual good friend because she knew  that Via wanted to have the main role in the play like Miranda did and Miranda just gave it  via  because her mom and dad would not come to see  Miranda in her play so  Miranda is an actual good friend.

Heart:

In my heart I felt mixed emotions. So in the Chapter Daisy's toys I felt sad because they were all sitting around the coffee table and Via and Auggie collected all of Daisy's toys.  I felt sad  because  Daisy died in the dad's arms peacefully and the dad was dancing with Daisy before she died. In the chapter ending I was happy because Augie found Miranda  and hugged  Auggie. I was also happy because Via invited Auggie  to her performance.

Head: I just don’t know what I should put in head and what to put in heart because they are so similar.  

Heart: During the chapter where Daisy died I could relate to the feeling of everyone being panicked and not knowing what's happening. I could also relate to a show or movie being so good you feel like crying when reading about the play called our town. Lastly, I think it’s interesting why he’s never had a sleepover.

Head: miranda feelt happy to see auggie agen.Auggies school is going on a trip and every student is exidex and he is not.some facts of miranda is that her parents got divorce.I notes that miranda goes thru a lot of stuff because she had not seen auggie in a long time and her parents got divorced last year. On  pg 253 auggie was packing to go on the big school trip,he started to get nevers  and  he said stuff like ‘’what if i can't sleep in the night’’ and he said what if i have a nightmare.Auggies mom said to just take a book with him and to read until he gets sleepy.His mom said if he has a nightmare his teachers will be there with him.Inotes that auggies mom is very caring because on pg 254 it says ‘’and put on your sunscreen ‘’, she said. ‘’ You do not want to get a sunburn.and don't ,i repeat,do not forget to take your hearing aids off if you go swimming. Also he had never went to a sleep away camp before so he was new to it.

Hart:What I feel throughout these chapters was ceres of what will happen in the next pg.I wondered why  via not want auggie to come to/ her  play if she's not embarrassed of him? I have a conecon with auggie on chapter packing my conecon is that i went to friends house to sleep for the first time and i was nerve because i wodle not have my mom with me. 

Heart: in my heart i felt upset because when Auggie lost his hearing aids because i found out that the kid that pushed him and jack Stole the hearing aids when Auggie saw them he was upset but said im due for new ones soon anyways and Auggie saw the pictures that he painted 2 Mr.Tushman loved them.

Head: in chapters home and bear this is when Auggie gets a new dog and named it bears. A prediction I have is that Auggie and Bear will have a connection and they will have a bond together. I can make a connection with this chapter when i got my dog Luna.      

Heart: toward the ending when Mr. Tushman was awarding the best students and giving them their awards when Mr. Tushman Was  done giving the award to the students. He had one more student to give an award whose quiet strength has carried up the most hearts. Will August Pullman please come up here to receive  this award. This is important because it shows this big moment for Auggie. 

Book: In the book on pg.256 he was being brave because he left his bear at his house so his mom could have it to cuddle if she missed him.Auggie is having a great time and he seems to have no problem with hearing.On pg.260 The class was running around the field and then got there sleeping bags and had snacks and soda for the movie.On pg.262 they were watching a movie and someone threw a soda can at the screen. Auggie went with Jack to find the bathroom.The line was too long so they went to go into the woods. When they came out they saw a group of kids from another school. A boy named Eddie was making fun of Auggie. They got into a fight and Auggie lost his hearing aides.  Auggie was thrilled to see the cutest puppy he had ever seen. It was the last time for Auugie to be in mr brownes for the year. Jack likes Summer and he was whispering in Auggies ear.Mr Tushman's speech was long but meaning full to the students.

Head: A question I have is why did Julian ditch the trip when he would not have to learn and he would get fresh air and not be inside all day long?A question I have is when he looked up at the sky on pg.258 was he thinking about Daisy?A question I have is what does rappelled mean.I predict that Auggie is going to get lost and be scared.I think that there is going to be an animal  in there and they will be in trouble and get a bad report for their parents to hear. A question I have is are Auggie,Miles,and Henry friends.What surprised me was that they  got a new dog. 

Heart: When my parents always go out somewhere for dinner we would have a babysitter and I would not want to go to bed because I was nervous to not have them right across the hallway but then I would have the door open and keep my lamp on so I would not get scared of the dark.I can make a connection by when he said his head hits the pillow he falls asleep on pg.258 I am the same it hits and I am out could.I feel bad for Auggie because he had his hearing aids in and he got into a fight and they came off his head and now he was scared to go back home because he did not wanting his mom and dad to yell at him for losing them.I feel happy for Auggie because he so embarrassed and then he had  four kids surrounding him and he was protected. I feel bad for August because he said everyone's  faces stayed the same, even his. I feel bad for August because he loved the astronaut helmet and he thought it got lost but his dad threw it out and he got really mad.I feel bad for Auggie because he liked Summer and now Jack likes her. Auggie felt so happy and I can see what he feels like inside.

Head:  In the chapter “Alien” I was thinking that Miles,Henry and Amos might become friends with Auggie because when the seventh graders were being extremely mean to Auggie and Amos shoved one of them to the ground. Even though he should not have shoved him this proves that he  likes Auggie and wants to be his friend. And even Miles and Henry wanted to be friends with him because they were pulling on his sweatshirt and got him away from the bullies. I was SO surprised that Auggie got a dog. When I read the part “I opened the box. Inside was the cutest little puppy I've ever seen in my life.” my heart dropped. I was so surprised. I was shocked on page 290 when Auggie's dad said “Oh, it didn't get lost… I threw it out.” I was shocked because Auggie loved that helmet.

Heart: I felt bad for Auggie when the seventh graders were calling him names and screaming and then I was proud and surprised that Amos,Henry and Miles stood up for him. I was so happy for Auggie because he got a new dog and he was so happy to see that because he had someone else he could trust now and he loved the dog. I was feeling so surprised when Auggie’s dad admitted to throwing away his astronaut helmet. I was surprised because that was Auggie’s favorite thing in the whole world.

Head: In my head I realized at the end line it said the name of the book “ Wonder” I wonder what will happen to Auggie in sixths grade will he have even more friends will something bad happen to him or will he get another surgery I also realized how much Auggie changed from the begging of the book to the end of the book. In the beginning of the book Auggie did not want anyone to see him. He would always look down, he had no friends really and everyone judged him by his face. In the end Auggie lets people see his face he is a funny, Optimistic person he does not care that people stare at him anymore he just is happy to have a loving family and great friends. Also he is not shy anymore an he has a bunch of friends and people do not juge him by his face anymore they all know his personality now and everyone thinks he is a good kid. And I known Auggie deserved that Award that Mr Tushman gave him.

Book: This week we finish the book and I think the theme of this whole book is looks don’t matter your personality matter because in the begging of the book everybody in school and outside school judged Auggie by the way he looked not by his personality so if they saw the real Auggie they would love him and want to be friends with him. In the chapters that we read like A simple thing, Awards and Floating ,The Walk home were all sad and happy and serious they were about how Auggie actually did not think of his face at all he was just so thankful for all his friends and he was happy. My face lit up when Auggie won the Award everyone was cheering him on they all got out of their seats and started to cheer him he felt so happy nobody mined his face no one was like eww what face is that. Everyone was so nice to Auggie I bet he forgot all about his face he was speechless and  when he was walking home him Jack And Summer were just laughing a lot they were all just so happy and I was happy of Auggie to that he got recognized because he had to deal with so much stuff like bullying, Daisy death, Juliana, Eddie and those other kids in the woods. Also why would a bunch of seventh graders bully fiths graders? Those kids are so much older than Auggie Jack and the other boys like them and I think there should have been an Audlet near the woods to keep kids out for  going in there. Also I think the bear was an awesome surprise for Auggie also bear is the perfect name. He was so happy. The author ended the book in such a detailed way that I really wish that they made a Wonder Two.

Heart: I was so so happy for Auggie that it was his time to shine and that he did not even care about his face at all he was just having the best time ever and at the end of the book/ last chapter Auggie saw his mom walking alone so he stop and started to walk with her and she said “ Thank you Auggie”   “ For what”? “ For coming into our lives. For being you” “ she bent down and whispered in my ear “ You really a wonder, Auggie. You are a wonder. That was the last line of the book which made me really happy for Auggie.

Head: What is going to happen to August and Henry and Amos and Miles and Jack in the woods. What will. Will August get mad at Eddie and  are they hurt? I think Eddie is going to get mad at August from getting his hearing aid back. I think Eddie and the other 7th graders are going to get expelled because of what they did to Jack,August, Henry, Amos and Miles. August and bear will be best friends because he and Daisy were and maybe bear will sleep with August.

Mr. Tushman's words were very strong and important because that led to the theme and it really does wrap up the whole book in a really strong way.

Heart: It was really nice that Jack stuck up for August and then Amos jumped on Eddie when 

Eddie pushed August. And then Henry helped August up and run with him holding on to him the whole time. Mr.Tushman's words ment a lot to August because it was about being kinder than necessary because some people were not that kind to August and now that it is the end of theyear some of those people that were not kind are kind now. August must have felt good when they gave him that award and then everyone started standing up and cheering for August.

During the book wonder for week 5, There were many important events. One very important event was when Auggie started camp. He hated camp. I would think it was fun because they were doing many cool and fun activities. Such as, They teached Auggie how to turn a T-shirt into a halter top, And much more. I saw this on page 237. This shows that I think Auggie's parents wanted to put Auggie in camp because they wanted to have some quiet time because of what happened to Daisy.

Another very important event was when Auggie won the greatest award for the 5th grade graduation. If I was him I would feel very important because I would be very proud of myself, and people that bullied me ( or tried to bully me ) would now notice that 

´´Wow she is a very, very good kid´´ And maybe they regret bullying me. Just like in Wonder how Auggie won the award and people kept on giving him high fives and hugs, and they also regret bullying Auggie.

Head: 

In the book wonder for week 5 I felt scared for something. I felt scared when Auggie was in the dark with Jack. I felt scared because they told all this detail and it created a movie in my mind. Me thinking of creepy noises in the dark scares me a little bit. I saw this in chapter Voices in the dark, but I also think that that creepy person was just Auggies friend trying to scare him.

Even though I felt scared for 1 event, does not mean I felt scared the whole book. I actually felt very happy for Auggie when he won the greatest award for the 5th grade graduation. He was very happy and very proud of himself, but his parents were 100% prouder than him. If I was Auggie I would feel so happy that I was tearing up, and I would tear up so much that maybe 2 hours later I will have a headache. I saw this on page 304. This shows that Auggie is a very kind, caring, strong, helpful ( and way more good stuff) kid. 

Heart:

In the book Wonder, Week 5 I felt happy for some important events. I felt happy when Auggie told us that in camp all the girls wanted to play with Auggie. That made me feel happy because I thought in camp he was going to get bullied, but it was the complete opposite. The girls actually wanted to PLAY with Auggie. I saw this on chapter Camp Lies. (page 237) This shows that Auggie is starting to like his life a lot more because people are not bullying him anymore, They are actually wanting to play with him. 

Head: Why would Amos,Miles and Henry help Auggie and Jack.Will they find the hearing aid.How Auggies his parents do not really care that he lost the hearing aid that was so expensive.

Heart:I feel bad for Auggie because he got bullied and lost his hearing aid.Auggie feels happy because school is over.I feel good for Auggie because he won a big award. I'm sure his  family is happy they sent him to school.Auggie feels happy because he made so many friends this year.

Head: In my head I was feeling happy because Auggie won the Henry Ward Beecher metal. In the beginning of the book no one wanted to be around him because of his face disorder. When Charlotte and Jack Will were taking the picture with Auggie, it was only supposed to be those two, but everyone started to join in because they wanted to be by Auggie.

Heart: In my heart I felt happy because Auggie was happy when he started to make all of those friends. But I also felt sad because Auggie wanted to get the award. Mr. Tushman announced that Auggie got Henry Ward Beecher award which was the greatest award that the school had.

 August went on a trip with his school to a camp.  He was going to stay there for 3 days.  He had never slept away from his parents before.  He was really nervous but also really excited.  The day he was going to leave he woke up and thought he saw Daisy. Julian didn't come.  August was surprised and relieved. But when they went to the fairground to watch a movie with his school and the other school Jack had to use the bathroom but the line was too long, so they went into the woods so he could use the bathroom.When they were about to leave a group of boys and girls came into the woods . when they saw Auggie's face they started calling him a freak and making mean jokes about him and laughing at him.They even pushed jack and august to the ground. But then henry and miles came and punched one of the kids, then grabbed jack and august and told them to run.when august started to cry, miles, henry and jack patted his back and told him he was brave.That showed how they care for him. His mom was really worried if he was ok.  A few days after he got home there was a box in his house and his dad told him to open it.  When he opened it there was a puppy inside.  He was black and furry and they named him bear.  

Head: I thought that the kids in the woods that were being mean to august and jake were being very disrespectful and should be taught a lesson on kindness and how to treat others with respect. 

I think that Henry and Miles are really good friends for protecting August after the kids were calling him weird and a freak and pushing him to the ground. 

I think that the new puppy Bear made August feel better about losing Daisy

Heart:  I feel like August and Jack Will’s friendship is really growing.  They seemed to be getting closer and spending more time together.  Julian not coming on the field trip helped a lot.  They sat together on the bus going to the field trip. They also sat together on the fairgrounds watching the movie. 

I also feel that Jack and Miles and Henry were good friends to August because when he was crying they did not make fun of him or call him a baby.  

Head:  when I heard about them punching and running from each other I made a picture in my mind and I could imagine it happening. I can also imagine the 7th graders apologizing to Auggie and his friends.  Also i can also picture them knocking jack to the ground.

Heart: in my heart i feel how scared they were because they are a younger grade and age. And I would also be scared to be lost in a corn field without a parent with me. I would not find my way out. I would also be scared to be running from a 7th grader that's tall and older than me. Also it is scary to even have a 7th grader come up to you and hit you and chase you all the way into a corn field. Also I would be scared to be in the dark at night because anything can happen.

He went to North River heights and he felt so tired he slept when he was there. They are in the movie outside and Jack wanted to go to the bathroom but there was a big line so he wanted to go into the forest and August also wanted to go. I noticed a contrast and a contradiction when Amos, and Henry,Amos stood up for August. August is going back to school and he got picked up by his mom.  August talks about jerks and good people and she says she believes there are more good people than bad. August got a new puppy called bear because that's what his mom thought it was. The problem got bigger because everyone was talking about it and people called him little dude. August and mr. Tushman are talking. August and his dad were early, and they were singing. August is in a stage and he realized that Jack liked Summer. Mr. Tushman's speech is kinder than is necessary. They are giving out awards and August was happy for summer, August won the last award and everyone was happy for him. Everyone took a photo with August. They went home and he hug her as a surprised she said “thank you, Auggie” “you are wonder Auggie”

Head: 

August is so lucky because he goes on a 3 day vacation but in school plus a movie night and also gets a lot of food and food trucks! Why would the girl be screaming he does not look bad and also don’t judge a book by its cover. They called Auggie an orc and a gollum. August didn't eat for 3 days!? August was telling his mom the intense part of how he and his new friends stood up and were bleeding.I would be hungry if i did not eat for 3 days. Why did he draw himself as a duck if he is not a duck or looks like one. I think that Mr. Tushman is gonna do a speech or someone.

Heart: I can make a connection when someone says be kind to people like how you want to be treated and the person talking on top of the stage be kind to nature and it will be kind to you. I feel bad for August because he lost his hearing aids and was bleeding and felt like crying and he did. If i was August i would feel more safe because he was like bodyguards. I would be sad if someone said they threw something out of my room or something that was my, i would be mad and also tell him to tell me when he is gonna throw something out

Head:  In Mr. Tushman's speech at graduation he talks about being kinder than necessary. Yes, I think it is always necessary to be kind but sometimes you have to be more than just kind! Being kind or nice and respectful are things you should always be. But I think when you are kinder than needed that is when you can make a difference. Everyone should always try to be kinder than necessary! Just like Mr. Browne’s very first precept in September, When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind. Choosing kind sometimes is not easy but it is necessary, it is the right thing to do. 

Heart:  I feel like Auggie grew throughout the story. He showed strength and courage by going to school. He faced his fears of being judged by others. Yet, he kept showing up and continued to just be himself. Auggie is kind, funny and just like a normal kid. But I feel like a bigger part of the story is the impact he had on the other kids.  By the end so many realized how great he is, they were able to look past his appearance and get to know who he is. He made so many true friends. The power of kindness, the power of friendship, the power of courage can lead to really great things!

Auggie liked it, he thought it was fun. He went on a hike until it started raining. He even slept there and he was fine. On the second day it was great. But things just got crazier and crazier. It all started on page 259, The Fairgrounds. The day started just as awesome as the first, they went horseback riding, and even climbed some trees. They ate dinner then got the news that they were going on a 15 minute bus ride to the fairgrounds for an outside movie night. They got there and set up their sleeping bags, stocked up on snacks and soda, and waited for the movie to begin. While they waited they played games to try to win a prize. The announcements went off, the rules, no littering, stay with your class, and no going in the trees or cornfields.   

Out of all the sudden Jack has to use the bathroom. But since there was a pretty big line for the bathroom they decided to go into the woods to find a tree to go in. They did their business, they started to hear weird noises so they left as quick as they could. On their way back they ran into a group of older kids. They started to make fun of Auggie calling him names like “Alien”, “orc” and “Freak.” They soon start to fight, Auggie and Jack are now on the floor and are in a really bad position. Little did they know that rescue was on the way. A voice out of nowhere yelled “Leave them alone” . It was Amos, Miles and Henry. They fought for Auggie and Jack then started running. It was only until they had left Auggie realized he left behind his hearing aids, he started to cry and they comforted him. 

Everyone has heard about it. People are even trying to get revenge, the teachers did eventually know and did try to get a description about them. But Auggie told them nothing. 

When Auggie got home his Family surprised him with a brand new little doggy, they named him Bear. The next day at school Auggie got pulled over at the principal's office. And they had found out the name of the 7th graders, they also found in Eddie's locker some parts of Auggie hearing aids. The next day was graduation Auggie even got that standing ovation that he has been waiting for, for so long.

Head: I am realizing as the book goes on Auggie gets more comfortable at school. He doesn't mind his face as much anymore. Auggie also seems to feel really safe around Amos, Henry, Jack, and miles. I also started to see a little of contrast and contradiction when the boys started to help Auggie instead of bullying him. I wonder why Auggie seems to not want those kids to get in trouble, not wanting to press charges, even asking if they were going to go to jail. Also how did Amos and miles, and henry know about what happened in the woods.

Heart: At the last chapter that's when really everything  got really emotional. After all that Auggie has been through he deserved every second of that standing ovation. Auggie is a very strong and brave kid, he has been through some very tough things and he pushed past them and ended up fine. He not only made a lot of friends but taught a lot of them a lesson on how to be a better version of themselves. I know that Auggies story really touched my heart. I can actually make a connection. One day I was watching a very tragic accident on this channel called dhar  mann. This accident changed this kid's life. I soon wanted to become a doctor that help people like this.

Book In this book there is a boy Auggie and he has something wrong with his face. and Auggie keeps on getting bullied in school and when he gets bullied there's this boy angel and he keeps on bullying him and there is this kid Henry that is his friend but Henry is not friends with August he wants to be friends with Angel so he acts like he's August's friend but he's really not. once  at lunch Henry didn't sit with him and then Augie said why you not sitting with me today and then Henry ignored him August and then August went back to a spot and ate lunch by himself and then the girl named summer came over and said to August do you want to be my friend and August said yes so the girl summer sat with August at lunch. then all of 5th grade got to go on a field trip for a week and then Henry decided to go back with August not with Angel because they got in a fight and they got suspended because Henry punched angel in the face so that's why they're not friends anymore so they went on a field trip for a week and then August and Henry went outside and then the 7th graders approached  August and Henry and then they got into a fight then Angel and other boys came over to go and help Henry and Henry to fight the 7th graders and they all ran away and then Henry said do you want to be my friend again to Then angel said yes and then they all said sorry then that's how August got friends with the other boys in  and Angel.

Head:  I wonder what would happen if August and Henry were in the woods and them the seventh graders approach them and then angel did not come with his other friends to go and help him fight the 7th graders off and I wonder what would happen if Angel did not come to help All Guest.

Heart:  if this ever happened to me I would be sad and I would be all alone and then no one would hang out with me and then probably someone would come over and say hello and and be my friend.

Book: In the book wonder auggie jack amos miles and henry got into a fight and jack amos and henry also miels stood up for auggie. and he lost his hearing adis and he was now so scared and worried because they cost a lot of money and so amos miles henry and jack helped him look everywhere but they nowhere to be found. and auggie was so worried his parents would scold him.

Head: something that surprised me was that jack amos miels and henry stood up for agguie and helped him look for his hearing aids and and be his body garud to protect him and take care for him and auggie was greatful for that and also he was happy he made freinds

Heart: This made me feel glad and scared because jack miels henry and amos stood up for auggie and i felt sared when the 7th graders came up to them then the got into a fight and they really hurt auggie he was bleeding and his sweatshirt was all torn up and they called him names

Head: augges family got a dog and they named the dog bear because augges mom when she first saw him she said he looked like a bear cub.I was happy that augge got a dog because if you lose a pet it can cangle  you whole life.i can connect to this because i had i baby bird and it died and i was really sad.at augges grathazon he won a award and that award was  for his quiet strankt . his school was so prod of him thay where said congelasons the whole time he was waking done the passage way.for the first time augge feelt good that every buty was not bullying him and claping for him.

Heart:after augge graduation  some kids in his school ask if they can take a picture with augge because of his award and they where so prod of augge. The them of this book is to not make fun of people no matter what they look like if they look different or have something different than you.throughout the book all that auggie wanted was to not be bullied and for everybody to be nice to him at his new school. 

Head: I’m surprised how mean Eddie was to Auggie because the bullying was a bit more like crime. I also think that the last word of the book being the title is a perfect way to end a book.
