JD has a lot of experience when it comes to monster hunting. Rachael has book experience and has studied for years of her magic. They conflict a lot because of the practical experience each have.

JD knows about mannerism of the monster based on past experience. Rachael follows what the book says.

Cause

JD was telling Rachael not to use her magic inside the building. Rachael did not listen since she believed that she could control her magic.

When the monster reveals itself, Rachael shoots magic at it. JD protests but it was too late. The monster dodged and the building began to collapse.

JD and Rachael tried to escape but the monster attacked Rachael. JD stepped in and got injured instead.

The building collapsed over them and everything went dark.

Scene Begins

JD is injured under the rubble while Rachael provides a small light source to see. They have to wait for their friends to come recover them.

JD criticizes Rachael about her decisions during the fight. Rachael defends herself stating how much time she has put into studying magic and creatures.

Rachael has spent most of her life studying magic and how to be a great sorcerer. She has never been given the opportunity to actually put her skills to the test. Rachael has to face the fact that she isn't as prepared as she thought she was.

Scene: Agreement

Rachael admits her inexperience in the field of monster hunting. She explains her history and what she thought she knew.

JD explains her experience and how she had to learn as time went on. JD explained that their first time monster hunting did not go well and that she had to learn from her mistakes.

Scene End

JD and Rachael come to a mutual understand of each other and make a plan to escape. JD is still hurt but Rachael is able to apply light healing magic so JD can temporarily get better.

Together, JD raises the debris off the ground, giving Rachael the opportunity to move lose pieces out of the way. After some time, they are able to escape the rubble and meet their friends outside of the building.
