Many adults also join the movement, including more than 3000 scientists. The Movement was launched by Greta Thunberg, a sixteen year old Swedish girl at COP24 which was held in Poland on December 2018. The girl was showing a sign saying "School strike for climate". Greta silently protested every day in front of the Stockholm Parliament asking for the reduction of greenhouse gases (CO2), one of the most important causes of climate change. Her protest continued every Friday and became a global event. According to the latest report, we still have only 8 years to change our lifestyle that is impoverishing our planet.The covid 19 did not stop the protests in fact on April 24th during the world lockdown an online strike took place, where took part millions of people. Thanks to the lockdown we also had a reduction in terms of air pollution. Recentely the newspapers published some photos of busy cities before and after the lockdown, that showed us how polluted our enviroment before the covid-19 was.
