The short story Red Shoes And Doll Parts is about a shy young girl named Jackie who is continuously bullied by her peers at school. Her only friend is her doll Mr. Jimmy. The children would pick on her because she would spend most of her time talking alone with Mr. Jimmy. Mr. Jimmy loved Jackie and hated to see the children pick on her until she cried. Mr. Jimmy would try his best to comfort her by telling her that they were wrong about her. That she was beautiful but it wasn't enough to help Jackie feel better about herself. Mr. Jimmy decide to punish the children himself to make sure they never picked on poor Jackie ever again.

I dedicate this paragraph to my friend AJ; he loves scary stories, and he loves to keep up with the current horror movies and games. I feel like he would love the dark themes and execution of the short story.

Jackie has a good sense of whats right and wrong, But she is very slow to react. She doesn't really act on logic but she acts on emotion. She doesn't go to stop Mr. Jimmy when he starts attacking the children at night, but after he continues to. She knew what was right but she lacked the courage to act upon it.

The reason that Jackie doesnt voice or act on what she thinks is because shes very shy. She was bullied into her submissive personality over her time at school. She even relied on Mr. Jimmy until he started taking action. She never saw anyone to help her and in the end she took everything on herself and got framed for what Mr. Jimmy did.

The antagonist in Red Shoes and Doll Parts is A living doll named Mr. Jimmy. He would say that he is working with or for Jackie, but its very clear that he works against her. When Jackie is being bullied Mr. Jimmy would think that that she would be happy if he stopped them and he would take it to extreme measures. Which ends up hurting Jackie instead of helping because he puts her in more dangerous situations.

Jackie is faced with Mr.Jimmy's ideals and other children bulling her. She knows deep inside that they are wrong but she lacks the courage to tell Mr. Jimmy no or seek help from the kids that make fun of her. I think if she talked to a guidance counselor at her school then she could stand up for herself and finally say what she truly thinks.

1. Jackie should ignore the other kids on her bus and her school.
2. When she goes to school she should set up a date to meet her school counselor.
3. When she meets with the counselor she should report the children on her bus to him and talk about how she feels about being teased every day.
4. She needs to tell Mr. Jimmy that he cant take her matters in his hands and that shes okay.

I really enjoyed this story and how it made the reader really think about how love can be a really scary thing. Jackie was very weak girl and Mr. Jimmy felt like he could get back at the school children to help Jackie feel better. They have a very miscommunicated relationship. There is a sense of hopelessness when you know you cant do anything to change the path that Jackie flows when trusting Mr. Jimmy because she does not believe in herself.
