What I knew about sculpture before taking the module?

Before taking the module, my thoughts about sculpture is very shallow. What I only knew about it is that a sculpture represents or expresses the ideas and experiences of the sculptor. I also knew that it will only be called beauty if it is pleasing to the eye.

What I learned in the module about the form of sculpture as a fine arts?

I learned that form is one of the seven components of arts which are the visual instruments that a craftsman uses to make a work out of art. Likewise, to form, they incorporate line, shape, value, color, texture, and space. As an Element of Art, form implies something that is three-dimensional and encases volume, having length, width, and height, versus shape, which is two-dimensional, or flat. A form or structure is a shape in three dimensions, and, similar to shapes, can be geometric or natural. Another thing that I learned is that sculpture might be described in relative terms as closed or open forms. Based from my previous readings that I found in the internet and on the readings that our teacher provided closed structure has a comparative feeling to the conventional type of a strong opaque mass. Regardless of whether spaces exist inside the form, they are contained and confined. A closed form or structure has an internal coordinated focus on the form, itself, separated from ambient space. An open form is transparent, uncovering its structure, and in this way has an increasingly fluid and dynamic connection with the ambient space.

What else I would like to learn about sculpture as a fine art?

I know that this is not possible for we are lack of equipment, but I would also like to learn how to make one, a small one. I would like to apply everything that I learned about sculpture. I would also like to suggest to teach us more on how to describe a sculpture, because honestly, it's still confusing to me. I want to learn more on how to connect the elements of sculpture to see the beauty of an artwork.
