         <description><![CDATA[<p>The bombing of Tokyo, starting on March 9, 1945 U.S. warplanes went into Tokyo and bombed Japan killing in between 80,000-130,000 civilians . Over the next 48 hours, 2,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Tokyo and about 16 square miles in and around the Japanese capitol were completely burned and covered in fire. So far, this was the worst firebombing ever recorded.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The fire bombing on tokyo wasn't just because the U.S. was at war with Japan. It was getting payback for  the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor and treating our prisoners at war poorly. At the end of the aerial attack, 5 million citizens were left homeless, around 500,000 were killed and 400,000 were wounded. Even after all of this, Japan's military leaders were undaunted. They also knew they would not win the war but the Japanese would fight till the end.</p>]]></description>
