According The BLS, 1.6 million workers are getting their income from the gig economy.

Regardless of how long the gig is, workers who earn their income through the gig economy must have a next project once their current one is done as to maintain their income.

Pros: Flexibility, Greater independence, A variety of jobs, etc.

Cons: No benefits, Quarterly taxes & personal expenses, more stress, isolation & lack of cultural solidarity, lower income, etc.

Their pros are:
  1.  Flexible Employees -Anytime, anywhere and even students. 
  2. Low Commitment - If employee is unsatisfied with the work, they will be uncomfortable relationship with your current company, employees can leave the company and join another.
  3. Remote Working - Flexibility to work from anywhere.

Their cons are:
  1. High Stress - There is no regularly fixed income.
  2. No safety Net - They will not receive healthcare and retirement benefits.
  3. Taxes - They are responsible for paying their own income tax.

Cons: It is not fixed 
Gig employees are known for working at company for a short time. It also mean that it is not stable and they also always have to look for their next opportunity even before the current project is done. 

Cons: Lack of benefits 
Benefits does not provide to gig workers by the organisation because they are considered as a independent contractors which are not completely considered “employees” of the business.

Pros: Flexibility
They are allowed to work any of the hours they desire. In most cases, there will be a deadline for the task given but when they work on it is completely up to them.
