In this scene, Enchanted is told she is not adhering to dress code even though she is wearing her uniform. She is being discriminated against for her body, something she cannot help, nor should be shamed for. In my personal experience, I have noticed injustice when it comes to women and dress codes, particularly Black women. They will be dress coded for wearing the same ensemble as their white counterpart.

"Why are we blaming/shaming little black girls/women for being 'fast' when they're simply being themselves? For just BEING" (307).

Black women have expressed how they feel they have to grow up too fast because of the external, racist pressures of society. This statement is something that is touched on frequently throughout the end of the novel. Even Gabby notes how if she were to speak up about Korey using her white-passing name, he would be behind bars. Our white-privileged society does not listen to Black women as much as we not only should, but must. We must listen to and protect Black women. The quotes below exemplify the same idea.
