         <title>The Berlin Wall</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1961, the East German Government built the Berlin Wall, a huge concrete wall topped with barbed wire, to seal off East Germany from West Berlin. Border Guards shot East Germans to tried to scale the wall. The Berlin Wall broke apart families and friends and became a bitter symbol of the Cold War that divided Europe and the world.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For the first time, television played a huge role in a presidential campaign. Instead of long speeches, Republicans used 20-second TV "spots" of responding to questions from hand-picked citizens. Complained one critic: "it was selling the president like toothpaste". But, it worked and Eisenhower became president.</div>]]></description>

         <title>The GI Bill</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before the war ended Congress passed the GI Bill of Rights to help returning veterans. The GI Bill authorized billions of dollars to help veterans set up farms and businesses. Many GI received loans to pay for college or a new home. The law also provided a full year of unemployment benefits for veterans who could not find work.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dwight Eisenhower promised that he would go personally to Korea if he was elected in November of 1951. Eisenhower won the election within a few weeks both sides were ready for a ceasefire in July of 1953 both sides signed an Armistice to end the fighting.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Schools would NOT allow black students to enter their schools, white students were allowed to enter easily, and there were even guards guarding the school to make sure black students don't enter, therefore, lots of black people/students gathered around the schools and sort of protested for their rights to learn just like every human should be able to do.</div>]]></description>

I also think that the kids were full of joy to be arrested because even though they might have been hurting their family by separating them from their siblings/parents, they were actually helping their family a lot because it would be smarter to have to go through misery first, and then having the joy of being free later.</div>]]></description>
