For me it means taht we are aware that we always part of something bigger than ourselves. Our local community, our schol community, our local environment, ecosystem. Being aware of that means we know that even if do small act, they will add up to create something big. And if we make right choices they will create something wonderful.

2. What does it means to be a “global citizen”?

Global citizen in my opinion is a person who cherishes diversity of culture and life around world. He feels it is his right to observe, study and associate with it and his obligation is to preserve it for next generation. He is open-minded and tolerant, not seeing world elements through the simple "good" vs "evil" point of view, but something much more complex.

I belive science is international language. Showing how great discoveries in scince were made like Human Genome Project, cases of Global Warming. Showing them how different is environment protection in they own country and solutions from other countries. As many different examples as we can show during the lesson and explanation. This way I think we can show much more to the students.

5. How can you help your students understand the importance of international understanding as it relates to your course??

I can help them by showin that some troubles of the modern world are global. And they need global solutions, that's why it is important to communicate with oither people, to connect with them in our search for answers. There are now many works in biology that are done by multinational teams, showing for students effects of work done by people from multiple universities and countries helps them undertand that sicence have no boundries and country border.

4. What are the ways in which the texts, topics, or ideas in your classroom have benefited from contributions from other communities, cultures, and nationalities?

During the discussion I always encourage students to talk about they experience with topic or solutions from they country. Thanks to that students can compare it with what they know, they see different approaches to solve problems. Sometimes the differences are based on economy reason, but sometimes on cultural ground, that gives them all chance to learn more about they colleague and they unique culture.

In my classes of biology I try to show great scientist who are overshadowed in public opinion, like Rosalind Franklin was in genetics because of Watson and Crick. Also My students have homework where they have choose one Noble prize winner from chemistry or Biology and explain why they think his discovery was important. To make it hard i forbade them to write about Madame Curie, to make them search by thmselve. The results where in some cases interesting and surprisingly good.
