  • Age- Companies are forbidden from specifying an age preference in job advertisements. Employees must receive the same benefits regardless of age
  • Gender-When paying a salary to men and women of the same qualifications, skill level, and position, employers are forbidden to discriminate the basis of gender. 
  • Race-Race discrimination involves treating someone unfavorably because of skin color complexion.
  • Mental or Physical Disability-Disability discrimination occurs when an employer or other entity covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, or the Rehabilitation Act, treats a qualified individual with a disability unfavorably because he/she has a disability.
