Equity needs to be pursued in order to truly have an education system that enriches all of those who go through it. Equity helps students from being divided and treated differently due to their backgrounds and accommodations needed. This helps marginalized students have a fairer chance at moving forward in life rather than staying stuck in generational poverty (both financially and educationally). Although it is important to remember that it is not just the teachers who need to change their views and styles to provide true equity in schools.

Unless we pursue equity in schools our country will be even more divided in terms of the poor and rich citizens of our nation. Although schools have done some changes over the years through policies and resources, not enough has been done to change our student's fate. The truth is schools cannot do the changes without more support from our political leaders. The equity needs to begin with students' homes, goo job wages for their parents, medical insurance, and more. Without equity everyone will be affected, communities will not thrive.

We need to pursue equity in order for everyone to truly have the same education system and every student is learning the same thing. Equity helps especially minority students of color because equity needs to be used with cultural proficiency.

Right now, there are so many students (and people) who are marginalized. If we want to challenge mainstream education and norms in our society, equity needs to be the norm. Our education system can't only work for a certain group of student and not other groups of students.

Pursuing equity will enable us to give all our students a better chance at life. In pursuing equity we will understand the unique challenges and barriers people face in their everyday lives. It will benefit every student by giving those with advantages a sense of empathy and compassion and understanding for others, while giving the leg up to others who are disadvantaged need.

Without equity in the classroom we stand the chance of losing students. Equity helps get the student to engage and feel safe. Marginalized students can feel as though they are ostracized, harassed, or put on the sidelines. One way to help this is to increase our cultural proficiency and change our views of how we see our student population.

We need to pursue equity because it allows for students who have barriers, to have more support for their growth in not only academics but as an individual. Gives resources that fits the needs of each student, creating accommodations and open-mindedness for each individual student.

Times have changed and the educational system has not. It theorized that the current schooling system was built with the industrial revolution in mind. They schooling kids to become workers for that age. However, we are no longer in an industrial revolution and the need has not reverse so to speak. The educational system should be serving the students because the skills needed to thrive in today's or tomorrows economy require literacy in a varied amount of things. So to effectively prepare these students we have consider them and what is best from in terms of what resources then to learn. Also we have to consider what methods that will produce competency and literacy for all students.
