         <description><![CDATA[<p>this focuses on helping then learners understanding why but not just how .in a class room i can use the following ways to make it work.</p><p>teaching while building on prior knowledge like before teaching quadratic equations i would first explore concepts in expanding or solving linear equations.</p><p>encouraging mathematical reasoning by tasking students to justify their solutions.</p><p>using real world concepts to link mathematics like ratios i give learners money and task them to share in ratio of their ages.</p><p>allowing students first explore the concept in groups so as to promote perseverance and deeper understanding.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Approaches to teaching in action</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Uisng inquiry based method in teaching Math will help learners form connections using previous knowldge to connect it to a new topic. I will use this approach in teaching Math by asking questions which can connect mathematical concepts to terms and concepts that they have already learned. for example , If I am going to discuss probability, I can ask students to give examples of events that they can think will most likely happen and events which will least likely to happen and ask their basis for their answers. In that way, they can form logical connections between terms that they already and to conceptial understanding of the terms used in probability. This approach will deepen the students understanding of important mathematical concepts. I will aslo use the experiential approach by providing activities wherein students need to investigate so that they can find patterns  and explore ways to solve a mathematical problem. Example of this is to ask stduents to find data linking two variables and examine what relationship exists between the two varables whether it is a positive, negative or no relationship at all. I will ask them to write a reflection of the things they have learned. I will use a problem based approach by giving a problem in a different field of study and how they can use Mathematics and Statistics to solve the problem A sample problem would be a problem to determine the effectiveness of a seminar workshop by comparing the knowledge and performance of two groups before and after the seminar in which they can use statistical tests to determine whether significant differences exists and also ask ths students on why it is important to measure the impact of a particular semianr or workshop.</p>]]></description>
