In 6th grade the start of the year unit is a unit debating the actual definition of art. We talk about "The Comedian", a piece of performance art where the artist taped a banana to the wall and then sold it for 1.5 million dollars as a performance art piece. We talk about "Degenerate Art" during WWII and what the purpose of art is.

I would like to use minecraft to have students build a piece of art based on a mundane object in a gallery space, document the process, and then try to "sell" the piece to a millionaire using the definitions of why the object is art.
