Purpose of Mission=Map  the moon like never before.
Fun Facts=   
1. Was sent to the moon to prepare for future travel to the moon .
2. Was focused on trying to find safe landing locations for future missions.
3. The spacecraft was equipped with 7 different scientific instruments.
4.  In the bottom of a crater on the moon they found temperatures less than -114o  Fahrenheit.
5. Scientists were hoping to find signs of water ice.

4.Was launched from the Kennedy Space Center. 
5. The Apollo 16 stayed on the lunar surface for 71 hours. 
6.  Was launched at 12:55 PM.

5. Launched at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida
6.Was the 1st space mission to orbit 2 worlds/planets.

5. Mission failed because of a fail in the camera system, no images were brought back. 
6. Rangers 7,8&9 were succesful.
