PERSONAL OPINION:
I came across this video a couple of months ago and I was fascinated by it.Reason why? I honestly didn't realize that it's possible to make tuned sound with pipes .And the secret is in the shape of pipes.I like how the sound has a strong presence and it feels the room in a way.There is also something very soft in the sound of the pipes too, in my opinion it is possible to make the hardest and strongest song sound smooth and melodic with the pipes.I also associated it with low-fi hip-hop because of the smoothness. 

PERSONAL OPINION:
This video in another exemple of how it is possible to make a variety of sounds with pipes.This video got my attention because if you close your eyes it sounds like you're listening to an electronic instrument.And also the way the artist build his instrument is interesting and there is no right way to do it , and just by changing the pipe size the sound can change completely. The object he used to hit the pipes is also crucial for the sound to come out, from what I can see it is made of some kind of soft plastic material.

PERSONAL OPINION:what caught my attention besides the music of course was the way the pipes are aligned and how organized it looks, with table supporting it.The student also divided the tubes in 3 sections. I find it very interesting cause its a way of organizing your instrument so you can play it better and not loose yourself while making your performance.

While planning my project I found this video and I thought that it would help me to build my instrument. I also liked of the idea of painting the instrument after finishing.

The video is mostly composed by two predominant colors; black and white, while the video progresses we also can spot the colors yellow , red and blue.The video begins with a black screen and a bold horizontal white  line in the middle.This line could be the guitar string that later will start to play ,it could also be the sound wave but most importantly this white line is the main object of this music video and every other element later presented to it came from this very line.The video begins with a hard beat that imitates footsteps but the line goes along with the guitar riffs starts.As soon as Alex Turner starts to sing at 0:29 (seconds) the line starts to go along only with his voice , making symetrical sound waves every time he sings and staying still every time a pause takes place.However later in the video the line starts to move like it has its own life, it starts to take shape of other things besides the sound waves.It takes shape of human beings , mostly girls and also it imitates de vibration that the bass makes when played.The colors starts to apear are and more through  the end of the song, and suddenly we are dived into this world of madness where the line is no longer, and we can see people, car racing, animals and so much more.It is important to observe that the colors are flat with no degrade of other sort of aspect.The imagery gets very intense because of the fast changing of forms and subjects but without getting saturated.A very noticeable characteristic seeing was how smooth the line modified itself so it could be molded to the point of becoming something else very unexpected, swinging from side to side it makes you feel curios abut what is coming next.It is something that brings mixed feelings: un-ease , confusion ,violence and calm.In this specific work I see how the use of color is not always a must.By using black and white through almost all the video David Wilson Delivered a piece of work were you could understand his message clearly without putting much to it.Another feature that helps to make this work more dynamic is the way the objects are being placed, Wilson made the use of perspective through all the video, it is a trick to catch the viewers attention.There’s always something new appearing.Despite the imagery being very confusing at times and not being related to the song’s lyrics at all it all could symbolize the subconscious of the mind, and how things inside your brain things at times don’t make full sense, and a interesting occurred to me; what is the definition of what is correct or not ? Inside your mind you are free to think whatever you desire too.  

This album cover made by Barney Bubbles for the musician Roger Chapman brings a variety of informations that I found worth to analyze.Starting out with the way all of the elements are placed on the album cover.There is a irregular square placed in the middle of the “page”, the square can be described as a diagramed square, however the lined that cross it vertically are forming a bump ,giving this idea of waves, and shape melt. Interesting enough at first place this work reminded me of the art pieces by Lazlo Moholy-Nagy because barney’s work in this album cover is full of geometrical shapes with opaque colors and the work also presents a grain effect that makes the art look antique.I saw also a predominance of warm colors but with those effects mentioned before they look “paler”, crisp and they seem to show sound somehow because everything inside of the image seems like falling apart and wanting to escape the page.The vertical lines remind strings from instruments and there are also some rectangles crossing the piece suggesting a piano keyboard perhaps.This work shows certainly  a rupture of geometrical patterns with smooth curves that suggest relaxed state.

This painting is called  “Dysphoria” is painted by Harumi Hironka and it took my attention because of the expression brought to this piece.The black back ground in the painting is strong and bold letting the girl as the main object of the work.It is interesting to observe the use of colors made by the artist, she made the of the colors.The ones used were ; blue, pink ,red and yellow.And everything in the drawing is well put together.The line art is delicate with black ink with thin lines.There are a few things that are responsible for the drawings expressiveness and representing of sound.The girl’s expression makes me hear her screaming ,the frown on her forehead and the red on her eye bags make her look hopeless and tired.The colors on her body also indicate perhaps a state of mind,The blue in her arms and shoulders can symbolize melancholy and sadness, there is also blue in her hair tips, then the red takes over of the rest of the hair and the face, it can symbolize the worries and thought inside her head, the fire inside of her , red can also be a color to signalize danger.And at last but not least the thunders coming out of her hair also represent some sort of sound , the sound of distress. 

PERSONAL OPINION: This video was relevant to me cause such a nice representation of sound was added to a children's movie.At a first watch this details can be missed , I was glad to have the chance to realize this details that as a child I missed.And the colors animation flows very well with the music.

PERSONAL OPINION: This video is relevant to me because it reminded me of a conversation that I had with and artist and we discussed about this kind of instrument and how you can make an instrument such as a clarinet ,flute and more of a kind only by using the appropriate mouth piece. Like in this video.What also is interesting to me is the use of an unusual material such as a carrot to develop this instrument.Considering that it is a vegetable and sooner or later it will rot 

PERSONAL OPINION: I came across this video I was very amused.As a musician myself I am always comppeled to use music in my art.And music is something very metrical and precise art.Math always walks side by side with music.

PERSONAL OPINION:

This video caught my attention was the sound that is not equalized and it bothers me a little.Of course since it is an animation from 1940 it doesn't have all the tools we have today. But I like the way the shapes  go along with the sounds

This was a website showed to me by a college and what it does is basically make a graphic score or imagery of a love story. All you have to do is to narrate your love story , sad or not, and the program will analyze your voice tone and make the image.An I thought it was something very creative and interesting. And every love story is differenr

PERSONAL OPINION: This video was sent to me by a college and I thought it was a good way of making a new instrument.So I considered doing my second instrument a flute. 

I chose the PVC pipe because it is a durable material and most of the instruments that I have researched were made with PVC pipes so I decided to give it a try. And also depending on the length of it, it can make a  different sound.

Geography Process  ( program ) 

As an Italian raised in Brazil I know that my knowledge of Italian movies is very limited. When Djago gave us that about movies of Dario Argento was very interesting and the aesthetic of the movies with all of those red/ purple colors really got my attention cause I am fond of those colors because they transmit me a warm feeling

This work was presented to me by a college and I was amazed by it. When I look at it reminds if a piano and it is so abstract but it works at the same time. I can imagine this as an installation in a museum somewhere. It is an unconventional way of transforming a music tab into a piece of art, cause after all music is art.

I came across this video during the weeks of this project and I was amazed by it. It is such a creative way of playing a heavily produced pop song and stripping it down by only using using Nintendo products. And it works very well because the sound produced by those is amusing to the ears and it seems to be well produced. Also the vocals are live , which makes everything more natural and fantastic cause we can see how powerful Ariana Grande's voice is. And all of these elements blend nicely.

What I liked most about this group's project is the graphic part of it.The way everything seems to be exploding and colorful.I also liked the way that they added a voice to their music, something that no other group thought of doing.But I can definitely see a personality from one of the group members more that the group itself.Even tho the whole project they did works well together ' graphic score , animation , printed ,a instruments I see clearly a personalty in it.It is all very clean and well executed and I think  can learn a lot from it to use in on future projects.

I watched this movie at the beggining of 2018 and it was so inspiring to me. All the neon lights. And the idea that society had about the future and how well produced it was, it was an ahead of time movie and I definitely understand why it was such an important movies when it came out in the 80's. It is a movie to watch more than once and it makes you think of the human relationships and how technology gets into our lives to a point we can't live without it.

I came across Jamie Hewlett's work when I re discovered the band Gorillaz in 2017 a bit before they released their last album Humanz. His style of illustrating really got my attention and inspires me so much ever since I looked his work up online.Later in 2018 I bought his book that contains 25 years of his career and from time to time I like to flip through its pages so I can get a little inspiration.His work interested me because of the way he draws these grotesque characters in a way that attracts people.

This video is so inspiring to me, Kali Uchis is a fresh artist and she imerges every viewer into her world through her videos. I felt this connection with this music video, it is full of colors and has this 60's/70's vibe that fascinates me.The scene I enjoyed the most and that captured my attention and consequently gave me inspiration for my work was; the scene Kali is in supermarket, and all around her theres a lot of products with this colors that capture my attention and it was so pleasing to look at. I wanted to give my work this fantasy/ make believe look so you still knew it was a game but still emerge into it.

 loved the colors he used in this illustraItion. It has a contrast of bright and dark and i think this is why it is so interesting to me.
It also looks spooky and scary.

I came across this illustrator during a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I found her book about nature and animals and I feel in love with her style. She uses so many colors and details with the line art. 
She also draws animals with big eyes and I really enjoy that because I tend to draw people with big eyes.

I watched this documentary  about food waist and I thought it was relevant to my work because food nowadays is something that if does not look " pretty" its not good, which is such a lie. And during the documentary I learned that there are many ways of not waist food, and how different cultures deal with it. I think that everyone should watch this documentary because food shouldn't be waisted and food is precious. I feel lucky to be able to eat every single day, and it makes me so upset that there are people out there that are not as lucky as I am.

Also, Anthony Bourdain is a charismatic figure and he has a harsh way of speaking and he basically says what he thinks straight away, and I admire him for that. 

Found this illustration and the way Kim Jung illustrated this mermaid made me think about the way I want to draw the scales of my dragon.
Kim Jung often inspires me through my work, he has such a sharp work.
