P/T One of the effects of wars is<del> PTSD, which stands for </del>post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) experienced by war survivors.

E The horrible wrong-doings that have happened during the war <del>has traumatised</del> traumatises those who have witnessed them. Many of the survivors are unable to recover from these experiences and the loss or grief of losing their loved ones. <del>and as </del>As a result, these have a negative impact on their psychological well-being.

EG Eva Schloss, who is one of the remaining survivors of the Holocaust spoke about her experiences where she witnessed the hate and discrimination against the Jews. She shared that she could not sleep at night and would have recollections of traumatic images of the sufferings she went through in the concentration camp, especially when she was not busy. Furthermore, she continues to wear dark colours like grey and dark blue as she has not fully recovered from her experiences and the loss of her father and brother in the Holocaust. She adds that she speaks about what she went through to keep her sanity, which clearly shows how she is still suffering mentally even <del>after so many years of the war ending. </del>decades after the war has ended.

L/S Therefore, through the example of Eva Schloss, we can say that one of the major effects of wars is the psychological trauma war victims and survivors undergo. <del>war has psychologically traumatic effects on those who have experienced and survived.</del>

P/T
One of the major effects of the war is that people who lived through the wars <del>would</del> suffer from post trauma stress disorder(PTSD).

E
During wars, there would always be deaths, be it our close ones or our country's soldiers. We <del>we</del> would always feel a sense of grief and sadness. Those experiencing these feelings or even first-hand witnessing these scenes would definitely be terrified.<del> and the</del> Undoubtedly, these scenes would forever be engraved in their minds. Even though years have passed, they would not be able to shake <del>out </del>off these scenes from their heads no matter how hard they want to forget about the gruesome scenes replaying in their heads.

EG
An example would be Eva Schloss, <del>who is</del> a Holocaust survivor. She experienced being in Auschwitz and witnessed many horrible experiences at the concentration camp during World War 2. In fact, she saw with her own naked eyes her naked mother walking into a gas chamber to be gassed. This would mean that her mother would die and it would definitely be a terrifying image for her who was still young at that time to see her own mother being killed.<del> However, luckily she was saved and lived till the age of 93, so that was a happy ending for her. On the other hand,</del> To exacerbate the situation, her brother and father died a few months before the war ended. Both died tragically on the death march to the concentration camp in Austria. She then had to continue living on, while grieving the loss of her father and brother. She even mentioned that she could not recover from the loss even though decades had gone by since the war.

L/S
Therefore, one of the major effects of wars is that people who lived through the wars would undeniably suffer from post trauma stress disorder(PTSD).

P/T
One of the effects of war <del>on the citizens</del> would inevitably be <del>psychologically driven, like </del>post trauma stress disorder
( PTSD )<del>in short. </del>

E
Death, torture, violence - when it comes to describing war, these words are not unfamiliar to those <del>citizens </del>who have gone through it.

PTSD is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening, or distressing events. Even after years, or maybe decades too, people with PTSD are unable to forget the horrifying scenes that they witnessed, no matter how hard they try to.

EG
Take Eva Schloss as an example, a holocaust survivor. She was merely 15 when she went through the holocaust. <del>When</del> <del>in </del>In the concentration camp during World War II, she witnessed her mother walking into a gas chamber to be gassed. She also relates that until now, she cannot get over the loss of her father and brother, who both tragically died on the long march to the concentration camp in Austria. This clearly demonstrates that the psychological trauma inflicted on war victims live on long after the war even ends.

<del>Four decades passed and it was 2019, and Eva Schloss was invited to publicly speak about her life during and after the Holocaust at the JW Marriott Las Vegas. There, she could remember every single detail of the holocaust, all crystal clear in her memory. </del>

L/S
Therefore, it is evident<del> how PTSD is a major effect of war on the people going through it. </del>that a profound effect of wars is the psychological distress it inflicts on war survivors.
