Nick Jesionka
For any assignment I like to implement parallel teaching. For a class that could be more than 20+ students splitting up the class into two sections helps create more opportunities for one on one teaching and overall an opportunity to ensure that students understand the material. One teacher can take a group of students that understand the material well and another teacher can take the group that needs more help with a certain topic. Before splitting up the class the teachers can review data to discuss which students need more assistance, and which students understand the topic well and can move forward.

My IA and I split our class in to two different groups, we mix levels and she works with one group to complete assignments and I work with the other. It keeps the class quiet, calm and engaged. Also, students benefit from this by receiving more individualized support. Jenn Gay
