Teacher Talking Time vs Student Talking Time

Instead of the teacher talking the whole time, we should provide opportunities for students to engage from the beginning in smaller chunks of time

Around 15-20 minutes is a good cutoff since students start to tune out after this.

The goal should be not to talk no more than 20-30%, so that students are given time to discuss and discover among themselves.

It allows for student-centered learning and engagement while retaining attention of students.

It is important to have a balance since there will be times when more direct instruction is needed. This is an example of requiring more TTT.
