CLSSC (also called Centro) is a success center that mostly focus on students like me. I am Chicana and I have felt comfortable coming here to ask for guidance.

When I first transferred, it was the first think I looked up to get a sense of familiarity. Even though I was shy and nervous, they welcomed me and answered any questions I had.

I really felt welcomed in with this student success center and they also shared resources, events, and many oppertunities to volunteer and make friends. 

Their goal is to help more students like me get there education and obtain their goals. 

I was able to graduate and even sign up for a Chicanx/LatinX graduation ceremony through them. It is basically graduation but with students of Chicanx and Latinx background.

I was able to meet some of my professors here in person and even get help from other professors as needed.

I recommend you visit and get a library card!

As a student, there are many benefits at the library. 

I had to move many times during my time at SJSU, and if I ever needed a place to study, I could come here! The hours are even extended to students and of course, there is free WIFI!

I was able to reserve study rooms whenever I needed a space to concentrate more. 

Don't have a computer or need a certain tech? No worries! I was able to borrow many different types of equipment! Projectors, tablets, and even the charger type for my phone to name a few.

The librarians were very knowledgeable and helped me find credible journals in the library database. These are to help me write my research papers with the right facts! No more stressing!

I think this was basically my favorite place overall because it helped me concentrate a lot and even give me access to the things i needed to make sure I was good and get my stuff done. 

It took me this long to get a library card, so get yours soon! I even have mine customized with the SJ sharks logo :)
