I'm 17 years old and was born at the 29th of April, 2008. Most of my life, I've spent it on loving my hobbies, socializing with new and old friends, and improving my self as a person (especially morally).

Whenever I'm with the people I'm familiar with, I'm loud and I express myself in any way I want. But when I go out by myself I prefer to be quiet and to continue on with my day.

Of course, despite being loud outside, I set some limits with my words and actions.

MANGA

Over the past few years of my life, manga has had a significant impact on me (though not the only one). Depending on the book, each one holds a story, a journey that feels like I'm a part of, and I'm watching it unfold before me. Each story has its moral lessons and values that you could appreciate as the reading journey goes on (making it more appreciative as you see a character developing positively throughout the story). I've read so much manga that not even the 16 titles you see on the cover are enough to amount to the manga that I've read. If you were to approach me and say you want to talk to me about manga, then we'd go on for hours on end. That's just how much I love manga.

There were some times in my life when I rolled downhill, but that's okay. Because I had my people with me and my favorite therapeutic sessions, listening to music. There was once a time in my life when I was extremely conscious and had social anxiety. When I had to go to social events, go out to buy something, or walk around the mall, I'd start to overthink and get anxious. But when I put my earbuds on and press play, all of my worries seem to just go away like they weren't there in the first place. That was years ago, now I feel confident since I'm with someone whom I extremely love. That same person also helped me to change my moral values, improve myself as a person, and to see to love in ways I never thought I'd be capable of.

Another one of my escape routes from reality is gaming. Whether that'd be online or single-player games, anything is okay as long as it's playable and the story is great. Growing up, I had an early exposure to technology, especially games. Before I was gifted an Xbox 360 by my uncle, I was into indie games or website games you'd find on the internet like Super Meat Boy and Friv.com.

When I'd be overwhelmed with my emotions or I need something to calm down other than manga or music, then I boot up my console then press play.

We've been together for 1 year and 3 months. She's my first love and she'll be my last. I decided to put her here because one of my biggest achievements in life is having her as my girlfriend. Fortunately, both of our families are slowly getting closer.

1. Was the subject Personal Development helpful for you? How did this subject help you know yourself more?

For me, I found this subject helpful. On how it helped me, it boosted the growth in my mindset, further developed my emotional intelligence, and added more to my self-awareness. Without this subject, I would have searched for answers about mental health longer than I thought.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?

Personal Development enables students to learn more about themselves by examining their values, strengths, emotions, and goals. It focuses on self-awareness, self-management, and how one can take responsibility for decisions to develop oneself. On the whole, the topic helps people to develop a positive mind and have healthy relationships that can make them happy and successful.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?

My two favorite topics from this subject were Career Pathways and Mental Health and Well-Being. Throughout my life, I'd overthink my future. Putting my mental health in a bad spot due to the pressures of my future. Thanks to the two topics, they helped me in decision making when it comes to one's career, all the while giving me the gift of knowledge, the awareness of the level of my mental health, and well-being.
