Resources that are missing is access to short, easy training, skill building - Ted-talk style. Accessible, interactive.

Technical skills are missing - numbers and finance especially, business skills.

Business acumen is missing.

To make build a sustainable business.

Existing classes are too generic - not suited to creative industries.

They don't look sexy - does not attract students - they want to be DESIGNERS.

Trusted brand like "Artclass' must conduct these trainings.

Could they be a YouTube channel? Online platform like 'Skillshare' but in person to cultivate connections.

To attract interest, industry practitioners, academics.

Missing the 'legit-ness' just now.

Look to neighbours like Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand:

Asia Fashion Summit, Exchange - showing brand new designers, attracting buyers.

Access into Government funding available to boost creative industries.

Accessing innovation centres that are being built by the government arm and find large industries to sponsor.

Support very young designers to access regional funding - focused information platform to announce regional funding opportunities and a mento or training to write the access.

The gap 1: is how students can understand how to bring creativity to production/manufactory in real lifes (Ex: Shoe, fashion items).

The gap 3: Students/Young just don't have knowledge about heritages of the country and, thus, the cultural identity is missing in their creativity. The differences are not there.

• Showcases: Students can showcase their WIL/IPL works and convince industry partners for their work readiness 

• Competitions: It can help students/young creators to connect to the industry partners, mentors

• Cross internship/exchange programs: Industry partners come to campus to work, and vice versus, lecturing team/students to come to agencies to work (1-2 weeks) for better understanding of the working/lecturing environment. 

• Kick-starter platforms: Funding or showcase your creativity to businesses and ask for their sponsors/investments. 

-> Create a framework - example: "NY and London Fashion Night Out" - provides an umbrella branding, but individual actors 'do their own thing' = Festivals, Fairs, Council etc.

-> Build certified online platform for skills or match-making, the "Tinder" of upskilling

People don't know where the resources out there are or People are too busy building. Create a central hub / platform where people know they can go to learn, to see what's out there, find mentors, funding, etc.

-> build suport platforms, central hub for information, skill-building and mentorship, how to find and access funding etc. - connections with industry, peers, etc. modeled on our A2A platforms

Need:

• Funding for a legit Organisation / Creative Council - people need professional run this and out of it create:

• Funding could partially be by the members.

• Need to attract buyers = money.

• International Creative Branding to elevate.

• Local awareness and belief in local creativity - local marketing to promote creative awareness.

-> Educational policy:

• Integrate creative skills into highschool curricula.

  Creative Summercamps -> to build grassroots creativity.

• Small scale workshops potentially with outcomes that can then be presented to government agencies for financial support.

Question:

How do we overcome lack of exposure, appreciation of quality and aesthetics?

Is it highschool education again?

We need EXPOSURE - enable exchange? We need creatives to 'look up' and see what's out there.

Creative Twin City - exchange initiative? or virtual 'portal'?

Creative Spokesperson?

Many people with skill or wants to develop their skills don't have access.

We want to give them access to curated resources in RMIT library. Conduct workshops, events with industry. Aggregate in a single creativity platform. Interconnection and networks.

Problem with censorship and self-censorship. Working within constraints and parameters. This is where creativity lies.

Connect

Platform for all creatives in. Address book for all creatives, forums. One site that connects all creative industries. Posting events.

Who leads it? university? industry, cities? student associations?

Bring in 200 top creative students from different Unis across Vietnam come to RMIT and work with industry, academic in a 1 week event to brainstorm ideas. Something that can be turned into an IP.

Catapult

Initiative like we discussed in Connect that partners with governments, agencies, private partners, companies to sponsor presence at international festivals and competitions to get these types of works presented and noticed.

• Co-partnership with social media platforms (Tiktok, Youtube, Facebook…) 

• Co-partnership with the government for some cultural events/shows

• Co-partnership with local big companies so they can support for the promotion of Vietnamese creativity via some product/services that locals create 

• Venture funding (Global)

• Alumni network (RMIT Vietnam, RMIT Europe, RMIT Melbourne..)
