Now, don't be fooled by what you think you see. This is a coffee maker called a vacuum pot. I like artisanal coffee and a rule of thumb is you don't put expensive coffee through a cheap coffee maker. This method provides a clarity to the taste unobtainable by simpler methods. It works by using a heat element below the bottom chamber, as it heats and the water is converted to steam the pressure builds, and the water is pushed through a filter up top to saturate exactly 27 grams of finely ground coffee preferably using a conical burr grinder for maximum consistency among grind size. As the coffee blooms it releases carbon dioxide gas up top and begins to extract over 1500 different compounds responsible for the flavor profile of the bean. I saturate for exactly 2 minutes and 10 seconds to separate. I remove the heating element causing a temperature differential pulling the freshly brewed coffee back down the tube and through a filter.

I have a pet Cockatiel named Ms. Griff. She is a wonderful pet! She has the habit of squawking constantly for attention. When she is free of her cage she flies around the house dive bombing your head like a Kamikaze Pilot. Fortunately (and unfortunately) the only bombs Ms. Griff drops is ungodly amounts of bird poop.
