      <title>Megan Erasmus - Innovator in Mental Health for People Who Are Deaf by Megan Erasmus</title>

      <description>Megan Erasmus provides mental health therapy for people who are deaf, which is a group that has traditionally had trouble accessing care. As the co-founder of National Deaf Therapy (NDT) and person who is deaf herself, Megan Erasmus organizes virtual video sessions in American Sign Language for clients in several states.

Ms. Erasmus and the company’s other co-founder, Amanda Sortwell Crane, graduated from Gallaudet University in 2010. After several years in practice, they launched NDT in 2018. In addition to working with clients, Ms. Erasmus handles many of NDT’s business affairs, such as strategic planning and market research. She also interacts with stakeholders and promotes a culture of innovation.

Also serving as the director of the National Deaf Hotline, Ms. Erasmus is certified in cognitive processing therapy and mental health counseling. She has completed continuing education in early childhood development, adult-child-infant CPR and first aid, and parental involvement in special education. Her experience also includes workshop presentations on bullying, suicide prevention, and other topics.

Ms. Erasmus belongs to the American Counseling Association and the National Association of the Deaf. She was the recipient of the Rotary Scholarship at Gallaudet and an RSA grant.
