I had never tried volleyball or played it very often, so I was nervous to see how it would turn out. Before volleyball I had only done MMA, Basketball, different types of dance, and many other sports, nothing like volleyball. The first practice was filled with anxiety, but I came to enjoy it very much.
----------------------------------------------How did this spark excitement through new things?
Because I took the chance of joining volleyball I now get to play a very fun sport along with my friends. I also am now passionate about volleyball and still want to improve. At first I was frightened a bit because my mom was originally going to go with me, but then decided that there was enough adults to supervise me. When I finally embraced the situation I realized that traveling with friends is so much fun and this trip was the highlight of my summer.

My trip really was quite an experience especially because of all the new friends and memories I made. I then decided to put myself out there and make some new friends. At first it was hard because I am not very good at starting conversations, but I have truly improved my skills by making friends. After chatting with people in my classes and expanding my horizon, I made some pretty close friends.
