         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jean-Jacques Rousseau was born in Geneva, Switzerland to a watch maker and his mother who died at his birth. He was therefore raised by his father. He was an apprentice with no formal education but he escaped. He then started writing about how man was genuinely good but could be corrupt by society. He gained much attention but went into exile because of the backlash on his view of politics and religion. He died insane in 1778.</div>]]></description>
