What resonates?
- Children play a central role in the success of the city.  "We are greater together." 
- Suspension rates at our largest district partner, Tulsa Public Schools, decreased 26%.
- Over 10% more students are graduating from high school in 2018. 
Question: How has virtual learning affected this #?
- Just 36% of third grade students are proficient or advanced in reading. 
Note: 74% (almost ¾’s not proficient)
- 50% of students living in poverty in Oklahoma will not graduate from high school. 
Question: How many students in Tulsa live in poverty?
2) What excites?
- The city hosts an array of both urban and rural settings.
- There appears to be somewhat of an LGBTQ scene and there are local protections against hate crimes. 
- The focus on early childhood education and realization of how poverty limits parental resources which affects our students. Through this realization, the school can better provide solutions and mind opportunity gaps.

The region is really focused on understanding that within both cities there's been a lot of growth that has left low-ses and students of color behind in a way that is statistically jarring. Also, since Chattanooga is a newer program, the placements are the in highest need schools and the opportunities for increasing student success are great. My question would be how does a corps location as new and small as Chattanooga support its members, how strong are community building efforts? 

2. I'm excited by the prospect of teaching students in a region where the landscape can be used to help them learn.
