This type of hormone, the follicle-stimulating hormone, is what is released from our brain so that our reproductive system can do what it is supposed to do. These hormones tell them what to do, and therefore the egg creation is commanded by this hormone in the brain. Later on these move on into the next phase of the follicular cycle which is follicle growth. This hormone stimulates follicles in the ovary to prepare it to grow and creation of the egg.

Phase 2: Follicle Growth

As mentioned previously, the FSH prepares the ovaries for their follicles to grow. The importance for them to grow is for them to prepare them for the creation of the egg, which make another hormone get released, which is estrogen, which the follicles release themselves. Now, estrogen plays a big part in the development of the follicular phase.

Phase 3: Estrogen Production

As mentioned previously, as the follicles grow, and develop the egg, they release the hormone called Estrogen. This is an important hormone in the reproductive system since it develops physical features in women, but most importantly it serves to when to release the egg, it regulates the release of the egg created. After that we get to ovulation, the last part of the follicular phase.

Phase 4: Ovulation

The final part of the follicular phase is ovulation. Ovulating is when the egg created from your ovaries gets released to the Fallopian tube, and there it is ready for fertilization. Fertilization is when male sperm enters said egg, and the genes from both parents create a zygote, to create a baby.
