This news story began in Baltimore when police officers arrested Freddie Gray for running away from them in suspicion. When loaded into a police van and taken to the station Gray died from a broken neck, which was said to be cause by the police officers not strapping the suspect into the van correctly.This said to be "racist" acts created an uproar of riots in the city of Baltimore. This influenced me because my dad works for the law enforcement of Baltimore ,and he was involved in attempting to control and  stop the riots in Baltimore. North Korea has made several threats involving the U.S. and nuclear weapons, which have been proven that they posses. ISIS attacks are becoming more common everyday worldwide. ISIS attacks are attacks on people that takes lives, damages countries, and create terror throughout the world. As ISIS is attacking more and more countries that are allies with the U.S. it is starting to worry the nation's security. Recently in the U.S. the government  has decided to change the face of the $20 bill from Andrew Jackson to Harriet Tubman, the women who led the slaves to freedom creating a huge step in black history. Not only is this a huge step for the African American race but a big step for women, she will be the first women to be placed on U.S. currency. I care very much about the change to the bill because I support equal treatment between everyone in the U.S. and race is just an illusion. I support what Tubman fought for... the end to slavery. Spreading across the world is the virus called Zika, it is a virus spread by a bite from a mosquito which can cause severe symptoms and can threaten the life of a fetus when a mother is pregnant. Muhammad Ali was a professional boxer than inspired many people with his motivational talent, personality, and words; including me. Muhammad Ali died on June 3rd, 2016 at age 74. To many people around the world Muhammad Ali was a symbol of hope that they should never give up and keep striving towards their dream. Muhammad Ali stood as a mentor to me through sports and inspired me to work hard for things you want and it will happen so his death was very devastating to me and i'm sure many others.

The first lady has worked for many years trying to influence the governments and public decisions about school lunches, the government agreed on a bill that gives $30 billion towards school nutrition and health. The U.S. defense chief ordered to all combat to be open to women. Many have said that allowing women in combat can arise some conflicts or opinions, "women are to weak" and so on. There is two sides coming up from the government, so men think that women should not be allowed but there are people like the Defense Chief, Ash Carter, that believe in gender equality and said that if a women is fit and passes to fill the role, she should be allowed. Recess is the time a child gets to get outside and play freely and release all their energy before getting back into the classroom to start learning again, some states in the U.S. are getting their child's opportunity to recess taking away.Schools are claiming that they do not have time to fit recess into the average school day. This really upsets me because when I was in elementary school, recess was the main thing I looked forward to everyday, it was where I got to talk to my friends without getting in trouble and i had the chance to get all my energy out playing on the monkey bars. Recently in Cincinnati ,Ohio a young boy fell or climbed into a gorilla habitat. The gorilla grabbed the boy and was treating him very violently and was said to be a risk to the child's life. The Cincinnati Zoo decided to shoot the mammal to save the life of the child, but then end the life of a 14 year old gorilla. Hearing this news really upset me because I have a strong love for animals and I know that the gorilla was a threat to the child's life, but you shouldn't end an animal's life because of a person's mistake and not one of the animal. Knowing that this occurrence is very rare I think the zoo should have made better instructions prior to the incident to where if this were to have happen they would do this instead of killing an animal.
