Another advantage of free education would be that everyone has an equal chance at a higher education. The goal of basic education is to provide students and learners with skills, knowledge and values they need to become caring, self reliant, productive and patriotic citizen. 

One of the advantage for those who are not yet finished to their studies and wants to graduate, those who are out of school youth can enroll and learn in an Alternative Learning System tat provided for them by the government. It is important to be an educated man because once you are educated, no one can bully and belittle your personality because you have the education, the opportunity to learn without any tuition fee payed.

For having 2 more years in high school or what we call the grade 11 and grade 12 or senior high school, we accept the fact that we are getting a Higher Level of Education and also, Employment. Students can apply for a work after senior high school since he has already skills to use in working such as technical and vocational. Students are also learned about entrepreneurship, students can obtain an information about entrepreneurial skills. A student after senior high school will decide to start his own business rather than looking for a job.

The students are more competent, they're not there to cope up with the world because they're up to speed. The unemployment rates would plummet, because the K+12 program makes high school graduates eligible for MANY jobs that previously required a two-year college degree. During the 2 year empty period, unemployed graduates can start going out again, entering a LOT of job openings that the first generation of K+12 students made from having no college grads for 2 years. The extra 2 years also gives more time for students to think of what to become as a member of society. That's more than enough time. It also reduces the risk of students shifting a lot due to a lack of contentment in school. Vocational programs are also easier to access, like what Don Bosco is doing to its current students, giving them practical lessons on mechanics and etc.

Think of it for the long term. More people who have jobs is what's important. Many parents saying that the senior high school here in the Philippines is just an experiment and they even don't have enough money to pursue the ambition of their child. But they don't even know what is the effect of this curriculum and what are those benefits that can acquire of their child. Disadvantages include the increased costs to the government and an increased level of competition to get into school.

Disadvantage of having 2 more years as a student who wants to pursue BS degree, example if a student wants to study engineering. Instead of 5 years, it will take longer, maybe 6 years or 7 years depending on the subject he got if credited after senior high school. Major disadvantage is that it's an additional two years to earn a degree. People work later, they earn money later. And in this country, where a lot of children support their family and parents, that's a major disadvantage.
