In September, with cannons firing salutes and ceremonial flags waving, Mao announced the victory of communism in China and vowed to establish the constitutional and governmental framework to protect the “people’s revolution.” Histoy.com" The spread of communism in China scared the Americans because they thought that communism would rule the world.</div>]]></description>

The Bay of Pigs Invasion&nbsp;in April 1961 was a failed attack launched by the CIA during the Kennedy administration to push Cuban leader Fidel Castro from power.</div>]]></description>

On April 30, 1975, NVA tanks rolled through the gate of the Presidential Palace in Saigon, effectively ending the war.</div>]]></description>

He moved away from the traditional American policy of containment of Communism, hoping each side would seek American favor.<br><br>A June 1972 break-in to the Democratic National Committee headquarters led to an investigation that revealed multiple abuses of power by the Nixon administration.The Watergate scandal began early in the morning of June 17, 1972, when several burglars were arrested in the office of the Democratic National Committee, located in the Watergate complex of buildings in Washington, D.C. The prowlers were connected to President Richard Nixon’s reelection campaign. Nixon resigns before getting impeached.</div>]]></description>
