-How does power affect a story? Critical Thinking: Analyze the quote: "History is written by the winners."-Why are stories so important? Why is it so important to reject the "single story"?

Power affects a story by how you view others. Stories are important because if you don't know someone's story you judge them based on what you think. And most of the time, your judgement is nowhere near reality. By rejecting a single story you can get to know someone by what they say and not have to guess everything about them. This is kind of like judging a book by its cover, you never really know anyone unless you get to know them and they tell you about them. Not everything is what it seems.

1. How does the character of Hector demonstrate bravery and leadership in Book 3 of The iliad? Hector demonstrates bravery and leadership by rallying the Trojan Troops, leading by example, taking risks for the sake of his people, and inspiring them to continue fighting
2. How does the character Paris develop throughout Book 3? Paris is shown as a weak, selfish, and dishonorable character in Book 3. She's challenged to duel by Menelaus but cheats. That leads to breaking the truce and setting the stage for the rest of the war.
3. What is the significance of the oath that the Trojans and Greeks swear? The oath symbolizes the human desire for peace and the consequences of accomplishing it. Its broken when Paris cheats in the duel, which leads to the war being continued and also the destruction of Troy.

I find this poem interesting because its based on an animals perspective. It shows how people can feel differently about things whether it's a good feeling or a bad feeling. The dog finds happiness in destroying the poems while the librarian finds it upsetting, which portrays two different emotions.

As long as you appear eternally young my mirror will not persuade me that I am old. But when I begin to see wrinkles on your brow then it will be time to anticipate my death. All that beauty that covers you is only the fine clothing of this heart of mine that lives in your heart, as yours lives in mine. How can I then be older than you? Oh, therefore, love, you should take as good care of yourself as I take care, not of myself, but of you, because your heart is in me and I will take care of it as a loving nurse protects her baby from harm. Don’t presume that your heart will survive when mine is dead; you gave me yours, never to be given back.

This sonnet is about his loved one and his appearance. The poet is saying that the young man should take care of himself since he carries the poet's heart in some way. The poet also says that he wont believe hes old until he sees wrinkles on the youngs mans face because they're connected/tied in the soul and body. Its basically saying that they carry each other's hearts
