Prince Charles is the eldest son of the Queen and Prince Philip and is the heir apparent to the British throne.

The prince of Wales went to Cambridge University in 1967 to study archaeolog and anthropology at Trinity College. For the second part of his degee h changed to history.

Before he was invested as the Prince of Wales in 1969, he spent a term at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth to learn to speak Welsh.

In 1981 the Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer. Together they had two son: Prince William (1982) and Prince Harry (1984). The marrige was dissolved in 1996.

They divorced in 1995.

Camilla and Charles first appeared in public together in 1999.

Charles has a interest in alternative medicine which he is criticized often for.

The press often painted a picture of an eligible bachlor.

Later they were obsessesed with his marrige to Lady Diana. He and Diana  suffered unter the attack of photografers and jonalist that often invaded their privacy.
The problems whithin the marrige with diana and the divorce
were always present in the media.

After a controversial speech about achitechture the press started to make fun of Charles.

Camilla had a negativ image for long time. The British Press blamed her for the failure of Charles and Diana’s marriage due to their affair while they were married.She receives the nickname “Rottweiler”. Camilla struggled a long  time to drop the role of Princess Diana’s rival and to gain the acceptance of the public. After Diana’s Death there were no more headlines about Camilla. To not stand in competition to Diana, Camilla renounced the title of “princess of Wales” after she and Charles got married.

A transsript-known as the camillagate tapes- of a bedtime conversation between Princes Charles and Camilla that was published just a month after Diana announced their split officially. It was recorded in 1989 when their were still married. The tapes that were published by “the people” re-saved their affair. It caused shock waves throughout the royal family. Especially because Cailla was married to Andrew Parker Bowles.
