Why and how can parentocracy contribute to educational inequality?

It is said that “tiger parent” parenting style is more preferred in a rapid society like Hong Kong. Do you agree?

在sdt(self-determination theory)中 其實是要給予學生 1.

Parentocracy contributes to educational inequality in the following ways:
1. Children of parents' who have close relationships with teachers tend to receive more attention and assistance from teachers
2. Parents with higher education level tend to give more opinions to schools (which is not necessarily constructive) that can cause a gap btw education received by students

Question 2:
We do not agree!
- A strict and pushy parenting can burden a child both psychologically and physically
- When a parent pushes a child to learn/ achieve more that exceeds his/ her capability, there will be a washback effect
- When a child puts too much time and effort on learning, they may neglect their whole-person development

Rich parents can support their children to exchange and study abroad, these learning experience can boarden their horizon in different aspects. Secondly, rich family and their children obtain more social capital, which reduces a lot of barrier of the studying of children.

'tiger mum’ parenting would not be significantly more prefered in Hong Kong than other places, given that especially for secondary students. As learning pace in Hong Kong is already fast, which is stressful to most of Hong Kong students. If ‘tiger mum’ gives too much extra burden towards their children, it is really easy to make their children suffer from depression, which creates adverse and inreversable effects.
