It was made by students from the Envigado Commercial Educational Institution, who are part of the research group GCA (Group of Environmental Awareness) and Engineers for the Future. The objective of this invention is to facilitate recycling: "We like to recycle and seeing that some of the people in charge of doing this work suffered injuries, we decided to do something," said members of the group. The arm has magnets, reusable PVC tubing, and solar panels to improve performance

Since 2012, a company from Bogota, Marclay's, has been exporting green valves for cars to Latin American countries such as Chile and Bolivia. This innovative product, specially designed for cars that drive in cities located at heights of more than 1,000 meters, saves between 10% and 15% fuel and reduces gas emissions.
For racing experts, this benefit is especially useful because it means that their cars will operate reliably on the road for longer periods, with the pressure remaining stable regardless of the wild swings in temperature that can happen when a race car’s tires heat up.

If that hasn’t sold you on nitrogen-filled tires, you should also know that the gas is inert, that is to say, it doesn’t have any other particles. The nitrogen a professional will pump into your tires is not only pure but dry.

It is devoid of water molecules that would normally corrode the aluminum components per tire, which is why it is promoted as a corrosion-free gas.
Felipe Moscote

first external artificial pacemaker, not knowing that
would restore vitality to affected hearts
due to arrhythmia. At present, their contributions have
benefited more than 80 million people and are va
fundamental for cardiology worldwide.

The research was patented with the help of
Colombian cardiologist Alberto Vejarano, who
motivated the implantation of the pacemaker in an adult of
70 years, prolonging his life 18 years more. In a
start, the device was not very functional, weighed 50
Kilograms and also had to be accompanied by
a car battery, in charge of providing
energy

His new valve was introduced in 1966 and was great input to what is medicine today.

Santiago Saavedra is a mathematician who studied during his doctoral thesis at Stanford University, the impact that mining has on people’s health. Later, he found out that there is a great deal of illegal mining in the world that destroys the environment, including deforestation and contamination of rivers with hazardous chemical residues.Technological innovations for these circumstances were needed.

During his research, he also discovered that locating illegal mining is a really difficult process which makes it harder to control. Then, when finding solutions for this matter, he thought about getting involved with machine learning practices. something he knew nothing about. After working for a long time, he created an algorithm that identifies the location of the illegal mines through NASA satellite images. It also uses artificial intelligence to predict patterns. Talk about technological innovations for the environment!

So far the system has 79% of accuracy, taking into account it feeds with several pictures to recognize which areas might be intervened and which aren’t. Hence, it is a very high rate for a program that is not finished yet.

Pérez, an aerobics instructor, forgot to bring his regular music to his aerobics class; however, he happened to have cassette tapes of Latin dance music (salsa and merengue) and danced to them instead—which Pérez later taught as "Rumbacize."
</sup>

In 2001, Pérez partnered with Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion to officially launch Zumba, and the trio released a series of fitness videos sold via infomercial Though the word "Zumba" has several meanings in, e.g., Castilian and Latin American spanish ,it is stated by Zumba Fitness, LLC to be a neology that was expressly created as a brand name. Pérez initially wanted to call it "rumba", but this name was already taken for the Cuban musical genre and could create confusion. As such, he and his partner began to try initial letters until they landed on 'sumba'; Pérez ultimately decided to spell it with the letter 'z' because he liked the fictional character Zorro when he was a child.
 Juliana Pardo
